“Superb”
Location is incredible, right in the middle of the mountains, you can watch vultures soaring all day and go on several beautiful hikes walking right out of the door. With a roaring fire in the evening, the huts are very cosy. A really unique place to stay. Our kids absolutely loved it. We would return in the future.
“Disappointing...”
The surroundings are stunning, surrounded by Grazalema National Park. Incredible views of mountain areas where vultures soar up and down. Staff friendly. Comfortable bed.
The accommodation exudes a sense of "faded glory." It's a shame that a place like this, in such a fantastic environment, is so poorly maintained in our opinion. There was a lot of litter on and around the grounds. Many cottages had loose thatched roofs. There’s an activity advertisement board from 2014-2016, which reinforces the feeling that nothing has been done to this place for years...The artificial grass, which looks unnatural, was even hanging into the pool. There's a lack of comfort to truly enjoy the surroundings. The uncomfortable plastic chairs at the cottage were hard to sit on for more than half an hour. There were no chairs or sunbeds by the pool, just a concrete floor with loose artificial grass. The toilet in our room didn't work, but fortunately, there was a second bathroom we could use. No towel change or cleaning service during our stay, though with the natural surroundings, the towels got dirty quickly. It's just a shame! We're not usually very critical, but everywhere we looked, we saw poor maintenance. With a few small adjustments, the stay could be made much more pleasant. We had dinner one evening, but it was not good. We ended up leaving the food. The price-quality ratio was really terrible.

“Excellent new years at Los Chozos”
Very quiet country cabins, friendly staff, two on suite double rooms in each cabin.
Everything was great, I had a broken leg and there were a few steps
“More natural surroundings than in town. Too many levels and steep steps.”
The property was out of town and there was a trail (ojo del moro) that started at the property. Nice views from the terrace. Mountains and nearby forest. Good place for birding. Good internet.
An unusual 3-4 level arrangement with steep steps required to go from ground level to an intermediate level with sofas and then 4 more steps up to get to the kitchen. 6 beds were on either side of the kitchen and there were 2 rooms on ground level that required more steps to actually get down to the rooms. No means to ventilate the place and it got pretty hot in the kitchen area during the day. Water heater provided water that was hot enough to cause serious injuries if you were not careful which was not easy since the water would either be to hot or too cold. Bathtub was too slippery. A set of shelves near the toilet was placed in an odd location proving to be a hazard if you were not careful. Going downstairs into the bedroom and through the door was hazardous for tall people. My husband is 5'9" and he was about 4 inches taller that the entrance making it easy to hit your head if you were not careful. No toiletries (shampoo or soap for showers were provided). Lots of noise from barking dogs and nearby sheep and goats with bells ringing on and off throughout the day and night. Considering the price per night we feel that this property was overpriced given the less than ideal comfort level.
