LOVELY APARTMENT

The place was not clean overall. The air conditioner leaked constantly, and if you weren’t watching it, the floor would get soaked and your belongings could get wet. The flooring was warped, almost rotten, and the towels were old and stained. We rented a car, and we were told parking would be easy, but that wasn’t the case. We drove around for a long time trying to find a spot — both free and paid — with no luck. In the end, we had to park at the train station and take a taxi back and forth several times. It was quite inconvenient.

The staff, because we came in Malaga on the main day when Spain and Portugal were left without electricity we were left without accomodation. Early in the morning I was messaging them, but they weren't responding and then the electricity was out, so we were supposed to stay on the street in that chaos and then in the morning when the electricity was back, we finally contacted them and they said that they wanted to quit the booking, what was really unproffessional. But in any way it was nice few days well spent in Malaga.

The elevator in the building was under construction when we were there so the entrance was a bit messy. Also there was a spot on the ceiling in the apartment that was probably damaged by water before we arrived and the plaster kept falling down from it. There was an unpleasant smell in the bathroom which couldn't be completely covered by the air freshener installed there. The walls were really thin and we could hear all the neighbors at night - I definitely recommend bringing ear plugs here. Getting in upon arrival was a bit problematic because the host sent me the instructions quite last minute and it included using an application to open the lock. I had troubles installing the app on my mobile data and when my sister managed to install it on her phone it still didn't work to unlock the door with the invitation code from the host so eventually after dealing with all the technical issues we had to call the host to open the apartment for us. Luckily it was possible to do it remotely.

Accessing unit was time intensive. No address number on building. Computer access not functioning. After 30 minutes promises of nephew comingbto helpnus in, child neighbor let us in street door. Owner buzzed us in apartment door after trudging through fresh sheetrock dusty 2 floors. Coffee maker, pod style, no pods, only salt in kitchen. No baking dish, with oven only way to heat food. No microwave. No directions for stovetop, never could use. No coffee maker instructions. Water leaked all over counter after she warned us not to allow water to be left sitting on floor. No way tobwipe it up except one dish towel. Repeated requests for assistance with apartment appliances, all written off, ignored. I asked about operational performance of coffee maker. She said it worked with last guest. Then said she'd check with housekeeper. Never could make coffee even after purchasing coffee pods. Manager warned us to be quiet or neighbor would call police. We're in our mid 70's. We don't make noise. Neighbors made so much noise at 3AM, woke the 4 of us up. I was unaware that Booking.com allowed second-grade listing to take advantage of their customers.
