Missing blinds/shutters/curtains meant no privacy nor ability to make rooms dark. Wrong wifi code sent. Plaza del Carmen had been set up as an open-air concert venue – live music until 2 am was fine; drum and bass DJ set until 4:30 am not so much. Lots of street noise as stairwell effectively open to air, although Bar Carmen (below apartment) was pleasant. Security: one set of keys only, outer door frequently left open and had to move people off the doorstep (who were trying to get in). Bathroom: shower curtain too short (or rail too high); black mould in silicone seals. Bedroom: window did not shut properly, ugly coating on upper window; mattress tended to slide off creaky frame; no headboard (dirty wall) and single bolster instead of pillows. No shelves or drawers for T-shirts, underwear, etc. Living room/kitchen: balconies to small to be useful; needs additional armchair; kitchen units shabby and little space to prepare food; needed to buy sharp knife for vegetables, etc. As apartment was vacant for a few days after us, requested a later checkout. Told no as cleaners booked for 11:00 (scheduled departure time) and could not be changed. Cleaners arrived at 10:20 and were annoyed at us for still being there.
