Location
The place initially caught my eye thanks to the photos and what seemed to be a promising central location. But from the moment I booked, the experience went downhill fast. Even before arrival, I was bombarded with disorganized messages – some via WhatsApp, others through Booking – all in Spanish, of course. First, they asked me to fill out a form that didn’t even work. Then came the charming news: there’s a sensor in the apartment monitoring the number of people inside, and if you want more than one towel, guess what – you have to pay extra. That already set off red flags. We arrived in the evening, only to realize the apartment is on the ground floor – something completely unclear from the photos. We had to keep the blinds shut the entire time unless we wanted people on the street to watch us like a reality show. Within an hour of being there, I had the pleasure of witnessing someone shooting up right outside the window. That’s not the owner’s fault, obviously, but let’s just say you don’t exactly feel safe in the area. The real outrage came the next morning. The kitchen was a disgrace. No kettle. The pans were ruined, scratched-up teflon that no sane person would cook with. The dishes were sticky – I had to wash everything before even considering using it. No teaspoons, and the most basic kitchen essentials were missing. I immediately contacted the hosts. Their reply? Basically: “The cleaner cleaned, we don’t see a problem.” And then – radio silence. No help. No apology. Just arrogance. From other reviews, I now see this isn’t just my experience – this is a pattern. The owner bought an apartment in a decent area, threw in the bare minimum, and clearly doesn’t give a damn about the guest experience. TV remote? Doesn’t work. Dining table? Wobbly. Balcony door? Doesn’t lock – which, given the ground floor situation, is unacceptable. Mattress? A worn-out spring mess that destroys your back. Good luck sleeping. I strongly recommend you book literally anywhere...
“Pleasant stay in basic apartment”
The location of the apartment was great, with everything walkable and it seemed to be quite a lively part of town yet not noisy. Self check-in was easy and the building feels secure. It's clean and basic with a great shower and plenty of storage in the kitchen and bedroom.
It's possible to make a basic meal in the kitchen which could be better equipped. Some seating outside on the balcony would have been nice. If you want to use the sofabed make sure this is stressed upon booking.
“Exceptional”
“Modern apartment in a central location.”
The modern facilities of the apartment. The bathroom and bedroom were a good size. Plenty of wardrobe space.
The cleaner needs to check the cleanliness of the plates. They had been put back wet, with mould and with cigarette ashes. There was no draining board. I advise the owner to provide one. There was no rubbish bin anywhere in the apartment. The hot water ran out the after 5 mins in the shower. The owner did try to fix it but I could not wait in the apartment for a plumber to arrive. I would normally expect the owner to deal with contractors. The smell from the drains was very bad in the hall of the building downstairs and the smell came into the apartment and on the second day the bathroom drains of the apartment smelt bad. There was also a strong smell of marijuana in hallway as the door was always open and people from the street could come in and smoke. I advise the owner to fix the door to the street so that it is self-closing for security. It was left open most of the time. The wifi router falls out of the cupboard, perhaps it would be better to put it somewhere else. We had to ask the wifi details as there were no instructions, it would have been useful to it written out and placed in full view. These issues were a shame as the apartment itself was modern and very functional.
“Passable”
Very nice host, who handed in the keys. The apartment is newly refurbished in nice modern style. There was a washing machine.
There was no hot water on arrival. The plumber came just next morning, and fixed it but we couldn't have a nice hot shower on arrival. There were no pillows for sofa bed and they were not provided upon our request so sleeping was uncomfortable. The apartment is newly refurbished and some things are still missing like a rubbish bin. There was no hair dryer.
