“We enjoyed our stay a lot!”
Good variety of food, we stay 5 nights on full pension and every day was smth different. Close to the beach, closer than the navigation shows. Big free parking. Rooms were cleaned every day. Very friendly staff. Highly recommended!
Very bad internet connection in rooms 426, 126. Also, a bit loud at the evenings. For me it was okay, but you can ask for the room with background view. No free drinks available for lunch and dinner, for breakfast you can have water, juice and coffee. Spa is a bit small for 20 people (maximum occupancy), there was hammam and sauna. As a free entry it was okay, but I would not pay for it.
“Chill by the pool and close your eyes. "High expectations, low budget" kind of crowd”
We loved hanging out by the pool—that was the main reason for our trip, and it definitely delivered on that front. However, the hotel is certainly not up to 4-star superior standards. The bar service is quite poor, and breakfast feels more like a charity canteen than a hotel buffet. The rooms are small with dated furniture, but they are clean, and the air conditioning works well. They have a little fitness room that fits 2 people max but enough to do a morning workout. The adults only pool is nice and super quiet. All the pools are really clean. Yoga is great and the yoga room dedicated to it is beautiful. They have heaps of wellness activities.
The quality of the breakfast food was very poor, and the overall area where the hotel is located is quite unattractive. As someone from Barcelona who had never been to Malgrat before, I was honestly shocked by how unappealing that part of Catalunya is—but to be fair, that’s not the hotel’s fault. All drinks at the bar are served in cheap plastic cups, and there’s no food menu available by the pool, which was disappointing. Overall, I’d say this place caters to a "high expectations, low budget" kind of crowd—more for the bogan vibe, but admittedly entertaining to observe.
“AMAZING EXPERIENCE (except the smokers everywhere)”
- staff were wonderful, went above and beyond to help us - food were very good and changed on a daily basis - the adult pool were great, very quiet and nice atmosphere - the spa were nice and peaceful - very clean everywhere - bed amazingly comfortable - the classes included are very good - easy parking available on the street (no need to pay) Basically there are two hotels together, Luna Park (3 stars) and Luna Club (4 stars), the only thing that changes are the rooms. As you can access both amenities any time.
- smoking everywhere... it says in the description that there is a designated smoking area, well... the whole hotel is the smoking area. Outside on the room terrace I had two neighbours (each side) smoking all day. At the pool: people smoking non stop and the lounge chairs were too close to each other to have fresh air. At the bar: people smokes in all tables.... There is no escape from smokers. - the bar could offer some snacks in between meals, they only offer crepes
“A few tweaks needed but overall great - will come back again!”
Close to city but also close to populated beaches and not so popular beaches. Live music most nights. Always spots by pool (no towel wars!). Staff were kind and always accommodating.
The walls are paper thin - you can hear everything. People walking outside in hallway, your neighbors “getting jiggy with it” and others snoring. Classes are only in Spanish, as an English speaker I struggled in many of them. Spa doesnt provide towels or robes or slippers. You need to arrange these first at reception and they a holding deposit until you return them. No bar in adult only poolside.
“Average experience considering cost of stay”
Pools were good
Room was in poor condition. Breakfast hall and food were average. The hotel was advertised as a health spa but when I asked to use the spa facilities they tried to charge me 30 euros even though I thought was included. On the last day before leaving I packed my car, checked out room, and asked to borrow a towel for a few hours by pool and they tried to charge me for that too.. Also pictures from hotel made it lol like it was ok the beach but it was no way near beach. Overalll was pretty average considering price I paid
“The pools and the pool bar area are amazing · Cons: They close the bar at midnight and turn all the lights off. No frigobar in the room.”
