Luxe Apartment in Plaza de España

Terrible experience. Not welcoming. Our two year old child was cold at night. Non responsive and cynical owner. Dark and modly. Even Booking.com couldn't reach him. In any emergency case, you'll be on your own. Hopefully this place won't be rented again as it is. The inside temperature of the apartment was lower than outside, because the wet walls were wet. Humid and dark apartment with mold. Someone tried to renovate it and cover it up with furniture and paint (the walls are dirty.) The air is damp and cold. We called and asked to have the heating turned on. No answer. We spent all the days of our stay trying to call the owner and have Booking.com know about that situation. We vainly tried to guess how to turn on the heating. There are no instructions anywhere in this place. The owner admitted "he's travelling". We asked him to mail or text instruction. He said he'd try to send someone after a day (no specification.) Nobody came and he then became completely silent. When we continued to ask for help, he cynically answered: "you can go to another accommodation", meaning "go somewhere." All the basic things are missing. No hair drier. No night lamps. The kitchen isn't equipped for cooking. It's not on the ground floor but the sidewalk is at eye level, meaning the apartment is approximately 2 meters underground. The other windows open on the small courtyard with a splendid view of the garbage cans. Nevertheless, we did open the windows during the day because the outside air was better than the inside one. The building probably has a major plumbing issue, the walls are wet.

Unclean even had previous guests hairy soap. didn’t have what was advertised ie hairdryer and no response from owner when I asked pre arrival question.

There was no air conditioning.
