Luxury Villa in Abama

The Address of the property and the position given on the map didn't match up to where it actually is. Luckily we stopped outside a property just about a hundred yards away and we saw the Natalia from the rental company. The property we stopped at was called Villa Abama, the villa we rented was called ''Luxury Villa Abama'' ! This was a bit of confusion from the Booking.com web page. Why can't they give them actual names and stick the name on the front gate? There is no picture of the front of the villa we rented on the Booking.com page. Give it a name, anything, call it ''Barrack'' Abama, just identify it. The front of the house isn't very attractive, that's probably why there is no picture of it on the web page. For the size of the place having only 2 bathrooms was a bit of a bind for 6 of us. There was no information booklet giving us information on the appliances, cooker, dishwasher, oven etc. No info on nearest restaurants, supermarkets, doctors, taxis etc. We had to wash our own sheets and towels at the end of the first week as apparently this was not included in the price. We have rented villas in several countries for over 30 years and this info and service is basic. The outside lights did not work, it took a week to get them fixed. There is a ''grassy'' area around the pool but don't stand on it with your bare feet as it is in fact just weeds that have been left to grow through the small black stones that have been laid there. The same stones that are at the front door. There were two vacuum cleaners, one had no suction, the other one didn't work at all. We had a brush but no dust pan. A mop but no handle. 7 kitchen knives but no bread knife. A bottle opener, very important to us, that was broken. No cheese grater. These are all silly wee things that every villa we have ever rented has had. After asking for these things we got them.

They really need to sort out the address of this property. All local taxis we called to pick us up went to the wrong address! The property manager kept repeating that the address was correct but another property with same address advertised was "for sale"!

Villa wasn't cleaned properly and wasn't ready. Few problems had to be resolved before we could start enjoy our stay. Internet did not work, grass was not cut, vacuum didn't work, boiler fault. There was big problems with ants during the stay. Host was very helpful though and address everything... except the ants ;) . Professional help should be seek to manage ants. Because we stayed for 14 days we had a chance to get rest after resolving all those issues during first days.
