“Avoid, unless your Spanish”
Where do I start.... I had read the bad reviews before visiting but thought people would be exaggerating but I was very wrong! We arrived the early hours of Friday morning, we had 3 rooms next to each other all with 3 occupants each. The rooms were basic....very dated, but clean enough, the tv had no plug socket on the wall so the tv was wired straight to the mains and our balcony door would not and did not lock as there was no mechanism in it to do so!! Walking in to the room there was 2 single beds and a sofa....no third bed made up... on pulling the sofa bed out ourselves we found 1 of the 2 sofa beds was already made up, the occupants of the other 2 rooms had to go to reception for bedding of which they then at around 1am in the morning had to start making their own beds up. We also had to go to the shop as soon as we arrived to get water, drinks and snacks as non were offered by the hotel on arrival. We were given our wrist bands on arrival that were inside a leaflet with different information on, this would have been really useful had it not all been in Spanish! I noticed whilst checking in that a lot of the signs were also in Spanish! The restaurants were very busy especially the top restaurant!! Food was ok, always found something to eat from the various buffets that they put out but i did find some of the food i put on my plate was warm..not hot, a few times we found that the food was not labelled or the labels were in the wrong places. A lot of the staff in the hotel were quiet rude and abrupt, a smile goes a long way.. we didnt see many of those during our stay!! However Juan was absolutely lovely and so friendly, when we finally found out about the Magic Cafe on the Sunday evening the English lady working there Anita was also polite and friendly. On making our way back up to the room we had to go through the restaurant it was only then that we saw some of the buffet still being kept warm and some of the cold meats available, we can only presume that this is for guests arriving later on in the evening which we were not offered on our arrival!! On the day of leaving we had to check out for 12 o'clock but was not due to be picked up until 14.15 we went to reception to see if we could still get lunch and was given a voucher for our party to have lunch before leaving, we asked the women on reception if we could still get drinks and she told us that we could use our wrist bands until we leave, some of us went to the shops to pass some time and others stayed behind. We then received a text to say that they went to get a drink and was told that their all inclusive had ended the bar tender demanded that they pay! I returned and spoke to the women who had told us we could get drinks until we leave and she point blank denied what she had said, This I feel is disgusting considering we paid for Thursday evening but used non of the all inclusive facilities on this day due to arriving late and it was not as though we were wanting to go mad with alcoholic drinks it was just a coke or a coffee that was being ordered. One of our party then asked to speak to the Manager, when the manager came to reception she greeted her with "what do you want?" This is and absolutely disgusting way to be greeted. Whilst on the topic of drinks we went up to the roof top bar for a drink one afternoon and was shouted at by the bar tender that we needed a card to be given a plastic cup! This information would have been nice before we had made our way to floor 7 especially with the absolutely rubbish lifts that you stand there for god knows how long waiting for. I wouldnt mind if the cups were clean the cup I received smelt awful! On the last day our cases had to be carried flights of stairs as we waited and waited for a lift to come and risked missing our coach pick up they took so long. When you did call a lift rude Spanish guests would push their way infront, i dont know where they left their manners but they were non existent. We asked if we could store our cases until we were picked up and was told where we needed to go we was then left waiting for someone to bring the key to let us in, we would have still been waiting now had a Spanish guy not gone amd asked to be let in too they then came with the key immediately!! On retrieving our cases one of the cases was soaking wet as someone had moved it from where it was originally left and had left it under the leaking roof! If your not Spanish then I would 100% avoid this hotel like the plague. If your Spanish the hotel cannot do enough for you if your English then your spoken to and looked at like something they have stood in! The only good thing about the hotel was the location but even that would not sway me to return a 2nd time.
“Terrible”
Wow wot a hotel needs condemning 😡staff so rude Spanish guests think they have right to just walk in front of you, room was something from 1920s door didn't close boiler banging all night toilet system dripping,we was put on top floor couldn't use roof bar till 12 had to keep going downstairs, asked at 11.50 for a soft drink just completely ignored, only thing good about hotel is location, please avoid at all cost or you'll be disappointed 😡never again would I go to this hotel,iv pit video on of noise at night please excuse my husband didn't know if was recording 🙈the outside area was always covered in bird poo which i know carnt be helped but never once cleaned cushions ripped on furniture on mould on walls.
“Terrible never again”
Location was ok hotel is great for Spanish people who they seemed to cater mostly for. We booked for 4 nights Thursday to Monday. Didn’t arrive till early hours of Friday morning so wasn’t able to make use of all inclusive or hot drinks we had beds to make up. We had 3 rooms for 9 of us so 3 to a room only 2 beds were made up in each room not what we wanted to be doing after a long day travelling. Glass was found on floor in room that I nearly stepped on. Monday we was getting picked up at 2.15pm and we were told our all inclusive had finished at 12 lunchtime even though we had paid for Thursday and got nothing. Staff were rude and ignorant. But thankfull for the lovely English lady who worked in the magic cafe who appeared to be the nicest person there. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone. It’s definitely more for the Spanish elderly
“Good hotel”
Writing I had a fantastic stay at the Magic Cristal Park Hotel in Benidorm and would happily return! From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help with a smile. It really made a difference to the overall experience. The rooms were spotless and well-maintained throughout our stay, which made it easy to relax and feel comfortable. The food was another highlight—there was a great variety each day, and everything we tried was fresh, tasty, and well-prepared. Definitely something for everyone. A special mention has to go to the bar staff, who were brilliant. They were not only efficient but also really fun and engaging, creating a lively and enjoyable atmosphere every evening. The only downside during our stay was the lifts, which were quite slow and often had long waiting times, especially during busy periods. It could be a bit frustrating at times, but it didn’t take away too much from an otherwise excellent holiday. Overall, a great hotel with wonderful staff, good food, and clean, comfortable rooms. Highly recommended!
“First time in Benidorm”
Arrived got seen to at reception after about 10 minute wait check in was 4pm but we had arrived hotel for 2pm but we got a note of our room and we were aloud to use the hotel bars till we got our wristbands. Got to store our luggage till 4pm so we could have wonder around. Got room 478 horrible smell soon as u walked into room two double beds pushed together only view we had was Into someone else room so had keep our thin curtains pulled over. Room was ok only downfall only two plug sockets one in bathroom one side of unit so nightmare trying to get phones etc charged up another socket was for fridge so could use that socket if need be . After first night the air con unit was leaking thankfully I heard the drips and moved sofa out way and put towel down on floor reported it and was fixed within the hour while we were out . Beds where ok we all had a decent sleep the four nights there. Bathroom /room all ok for what we paid cleaner comes every day which good we just opted for fresh towels every day and beds changed one time our stay . All inclusive was ok you wouldn’t starve even If I did eat more chip baguettes I’ve ever ate before I still ate lol kids were fussy they seem to have chips cheese lunch and supper first day then we ended up eating out so had better choice .the snacks weren’t good either I think was left over food from that morning /lunch maybe odd thing was changed . Or crisps and peanuts at bars little plates for you to help yourself. The hotel was mostly older folk rather rude pushing past to get in lifts even thought we have stood waiting na don’t think so pushing the kids out way na not on big mistake u will wait like rest of us waiting in line . We were not offered to upgrade the all inclusive either so you got better drinks I think or could use there other hotels it wasn’t an option for us but we heard a few others saying they had upgraded . Hotel a 10 min walk down to beach front or longer if you want stop into all the shops / bars etc . So much choice for food and drinks was really nice weather the four days we had there . Swimming pool was on roof top next to the bar area which you have to pay 1 euro for a plastic cup which u don’t get back may I add!! All inclusive never heard of paying for a cup like this anyways they where always refreshed before a new drink not as tho it was same dirty cup u used ur whole stay . The strip im sure they call it was busy busy wasn’t a bar/restaurant in site that was empty . Would we go back to Benidorm yeh I think we would . Our hotel wasn’t to bad for getting drinks was end of march start of April but I wouldn’t like to be there in the summer having to stand the que for a drink or two . Take your own hair dryer and iron to as they want 20 euro for u to use for an hour 🫣 u do get back I think but best take ur own stuff . Fridge in room so u can stock up with cold drinks . Shops right next door and big supermarket few minute walk away .
