“Fantastic, relaxing stay at Maite Villa”

The best

Excellent location. Short walk to everything. Villa is very secure, spacious and relaxing. Lots of plates, glassware and other utensils and pots available including BBQ tools etc. Aircon in all the upstairs bedrooms was very nice to have. Outdoor bathroom was also extremely useful given it's proximity to the pool. Main bus station is a 5 minute walk. Mercadona supermarket about 7 minutes. Then plenty of other shops and bars no more than 15 minutes away. Very generously sized living room with comfy seating and air con. Lots of outdoor seating, some with comfy cushions, and other more suited for use when you are wet. Large table and chairs in a covered shaded spot at the rear was great for eating out and having a chat away from the heat of the sun. Upstairs balcony / terrace had an amazing view, however we didn't use it due to the lack of any furniture up there (I guess this could be a problem if it got windy).

To be improved

Electricity seemed to trip a lot for no reason. We would be out and everything was turned off and we would get back to the fuse being tripped. Luckily we didn't hire a car (no need) so the electric gate didn't pose a problem if the power was off. Power was tripped when we first entered the villa for the first time too. Hot water seemed very sporadic and in short supply when there was some. Could have done with a hair dryer. Most villas I've stayed in previously have had one. The balconies and rooms had awnings but we couldn't locate the winding tool. The pool needs topping up more frequently than it is. Would be easy to lock yourself out of the villa, especially with young children. The doors latch behind you, which is great for security, but means having to be very careful about how the doors are used (we popped open the dead bolts when the doors were open). All very minor points however, because the villa was excellent and well kept other than these small points. Biggest problem was the lack of air-con in the downstairs bedrooms; road noise meant open windows on an evening wasn't possible. Also mattresses were somewhat hard in all bedrooms.
