No microwave, not being able to store luggage while we were waiting for apartment (had to pay $100.00 to a temporary luggage storage facility ), graffiti at gate that led to entrance to building where apartment was located and the initial communication with property manager was a bit chaotic (initial agreed upon check in time delayed almost 2 hours due to property manager not being able to meet us there on time)

Our check in was not smooth. The host told us via WhatsApp message that she was ill about 2.5 hours before out flight landed. At least couple of weeks ahead of our stay, we communicated to our host that we wanted to check in between 3-4 pm. Once our flight landed, I got the host's message that she was ill and could not meet us at the property to hand over the keys, but that a colleague can meet us but only at 6 pm. We had been traveling for some 16 hours and needed to take a shower before our dinner reservation at 6 pm, so it just wouldn't work to wait on the street with our bags until 6 pm to get the keys. So I ended up paying 24 Euros for a round trip taxi to take me to the host's apartment to pick up a set of keys. The host never offered to pay for our taxi trip. When I arrived at the host's apartment, the keys were not on top of the mailbox as she told us. I had to ask the taxi to wait while I tried to contact the host. I called the host, but no one answered. I messaged the host that we are waiting outside, but no one answered. Finally after 5-7 minutes more of waiting, a woman comes out with the keys, By this time, I was pretty frustrated after traveling for over 16 hours and then having to pay for a taxi trip to pick up the keys. When we finally got into the apartment, the flushing mechanism on the upstairs toilet was broken and appeared to have been broken for some time. I messaged the host, but she told me to contact her colleague to deal with it. I contacted her colleague, but he never responded. The floors were pretty dusty and some of the towels were threadbare. The was no hand soap in the downstairs bathroom. Poor communication about the amount of the tourist tax. Booking.com confirmation said that the property would collect 75 Euros for the tax, but the host said we owed 102 Euros.
