“Central Location, But Overpriced and Underwhelming”
Hotel Madrid Reina Victoria is perfectly located for exploring Madrid, and we appreciated being checked in early after our long flight from the U.S.—a thoughtful gesture that started things off well. Unfortunately, the rest of the stay didn’t live up to expectations. The surrounding construction was a major disappointment. It stripped away the charm of the area, making it impossible to enjoy even the plaza in front of the hotel. The bed was too soft for my liking—far from the comfort of Hotel Colón Gran Meliá in Sevilla. Toilet paper was surprisingly rough, which added to the discomfort. We appreciated the daily water for the coffee pot and the variety of espresso pods. Our espresso machine had issues upon arrival, but staff replaced it promptly. The nightly rate felt steep, and breakfast was an additional €30 per person per day—far too much for what was offered. Had I known about the construction and these limitations, I likely wouldn’t have booked, despite my loyalty to the Meliá brand. This stay felt overpriced and impersonal, and despite the location, it’s not a place I’ll be returning to—or recommending.
“Stylish Stay Without the Splurge”
Stayed here on a recent business trip and was very pleased overall. The room offered a great balance of function and comfort, with a modern, slightly luxurious feel—ideal for working and relaxing. I was concerned that my room (1st floor overlooking the square) would be noisy at night. It wasn't at all. Breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of fresh options to start the day. The only downside was the gym: it’s very small and must be booked in advance, which wasn’t clearly communicated at check-in. I later discovered I could use a nearby partner gym, but had to figure that out myself. Despite that Service overall was very good—staff were helpful and arranged dinner reservations smoothly. The hotel’s location is another big plus: right in the heart of Madrid, with easy access to shopping, restaurants, and cultural sites. It also has a rooftop bar although it was closed during my stay - which may have explained the very reasonable cost. Would definitely stay again, whether for business or a personal trip.
“Pretty Good!”
Very polite and friendly staff members! Good location and lovely view from the balcony!
No smart tv! If you don’t speak Spanish then you cannot enjoy watching TV
“Relaxing and entertaining, basically an amazing experience.”
Amazing experience. It's good to know there are still proper hotels within the city where one can relax and enjoy a good night out within the same building. Definitely coming back in the future.
At night the noise from the street can be bit too much at times but there's nothing you can do about it within the neighbourhood.
“Right place to be in Madrid”
Everything, the location the staff the price
All works well
“Great location, friendly staff, clean facilities, and high-end feel.”
We loved that it was centrally-located and thus able to walk to every destination on our list. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. The hotel was clean and elegant. We didn't take advantage of the hotel restaurant so we can't provide feedback on the food. We will definitely stay again when we return to Madrid.
I can't think of anything.
