Medplaya Hotel Bali

Absolutely blast! Hotel very welcoming, even hospitality manager Virginia checked on us couple of times personally. Food range and evening entertainment, perfect for families, quiet enough comparing very busy as was booked up during our visit. Very close to the beach and promenade and Puerto Marina. Very nice staff also, clean and spacious room, will come back again

Good points The room was clean and the view was good. The entertainment around the pool for the kids was good (which was good as we visited early April so the pool was pretty cold). The food was OK, a very British menu, which I didn't mind, but if you are travelling to Spain for Spanish food you will be disappointed. The location of the hotel is pretty central so good there too Bad points The pool staff were very grumpy with the kids. No inflatables in the pool, even when it was empty, and the guard was quite rude. No diving in the pool, even though its about 2m deep, again quite rude telling people. The sun loungers are old, worn and quite uncomfortable. The parasols are fixed and don't collapse, so if you want to be in the sun or shade you will spend all day moving your sunbed to be in/out of it. Oh, and the pool doesn't open till around 11:15 most days and closes around 17:30. When I say closed I mean they actually fence it off each day The shower in the room was quite dangerous, getting scalding hot randomly. Be careful with kids, and no extractor fan or window in the bathroom, which was strange. Overall If you are wanting a cheap and cheerful place to stay then this is fine.

The Bali is a very friendly hotel in a good location. It isn't the Ritz and doesn't pretend to be but everyone seems to be having fun. My 10 year old son really enjoyed the children's activities and had the best time. We've stayed here several times before and would not hesitate to return.

Never been a 3* Given a room for 3 people and was only just big enough for two. No air conditioning, the staff are not very friendly or helpful. We went all inclusive but was not allowed to have food at the pool snack bar unless you paid for it, was told to use a small room in the lobby hotel bar were you could only get a sandwich from the fridge. The kids pool is freezing. Honestly do not waste your money on this hotel it is horrendous

The hotel is in a great location, there is a hill but your only walking about quarter of the way up and at a slow and steady pace I would say it’s manageable.There is a bus stop at the bottom of the hill with great connections.If you cut through the hotels you are straight on the promenade and beach and about a 20 min walk to the marina. The hotel reception is clean and the staff welcoming.The corridors to the rooms need a revamp the carpets look worn and better lighting would be good. The pool area desperately needs new sun beds they look old and dirty and were very uncomfortable. The rooms were clean and towels replaced daily. we did have to leave the balcony door open as the air-con didn’t feel cool during our entire stay. There are no glasses or cups to drink from in the room,which would be a nice touch but there is a mini fridge.Also storage is a maximum for two people I would say, we are a family of three and my husband lived out of his suitcase. The restaurant was clean and the staff there worked hard to keep on top of things.Plenty of choice at breakfast time cheese,meat,eggs, fruit,pastries,toast and cooked options.The evening meal was a different story…the food was lukewarm at best and whoever is planning the menus really needs to stand back and put dishes together but one nice there seemed to be all mains and no sides and the next night all sides and no mains.The dishes just didn’t go together and it was a real shame as we didn’t enjoy one evening meal. The entertainment starts late 9pm with a mini disco at 9.30!! This is far too late for younger families and I would suggest swapping them around or a mini disco at 8.30 and bingo at 9pm followed by entertainment as many other resorts do. Overall I would say a good location but for us to stay again the hotel would need to make some improvements.

We just came home from a 7 night stay at Hotel Bali with our 3 and 8 year old, half board. You get what you pay for with this hotel and is definitely a 3 star hotel. Location - great location, short walk down a steep hill to the beach. We got a taxi to the Marina which was 7€ and 20€ to the Biopark which was 25 minutes away. Rooms- We had a superior family room with pool view. We were on the bottom floor so we didn’t get any pool view however, I did request a low level room so I think this was the compromise. The room was very large and spacious and modern. Although tea/coffee/milk was provided on arrival, this was not refillable and the front desk saying it was a “welcome gift”. So if you want a hot drink with milk you’ll need to buy your own and store in the mini fridge. Although bedrooms are modern the bathrooms are not renovated, very bright orange tiles and not the same aesthetic. We visited end of March/ start April, only sheets on the bed and miss match blankets stored in the cupboard. Not an issue but a clear 3 star rating as you’re not paying for luxury. Rooms cleaned and beds made everyday, fresh towels every other day. Food: Breakfast was mostly the same everyday, drinks are inclusive at breakfast time. we were half board so could choose either lunch or evening meal. Lunch selection was smaller than evening and not as busy- only open for 2 hours. Evening meals again not much variation, kids food there is always pasta, chips, either chicken nuggets/ sausages. The food was very average and we were glad we had the option of eating outside of the hotel. Drinks are not included in lunch/dinner, 700ml of water is €2.30. Staff- we found all staff were very helpful and friendly. Our transfer was at 4:35pm and we were allowed access to curtesy room to shower etc which was great. There was entertainment/ games throughout the day that my 8 year enjoyed, some arts and crafts my 3 year old could do too. I think in peak season they have more entertainment/ clubs for the children. Children enjoyed the mini disco in the evenings too. Overall we enjoyed our stay, it was a cheap holiday in the Easter Holidays which worked well. No luxury/ attention to detail so a 3 star rating seems fair. I would recommend this to a family looking for a good deal and great location.
