“Very disappointing”
Nearly 2hours to check in was the start of it. Understand this was a busy time with football tournaments on, however 2hours, roughly 20mins per check in is ridiculous. The Room Rooms very cramped for family of 3. TV shocking, Netflix wouldn’t work. Smell from toilet was vile. Aircon was basically not working. Just grubby. No bin for rubbish even. Pool area Grim, sunbeds were dirty & uncomfortable. Pool was freezing! No music, no vibes at all either. Bar area was shocking for choices. No cocktails or anything. 1 beer choice. Other pool was closed whole week. Food Disgusting, we were half board and actually chose to eat out for breakfast lunch and dinner because of how bad it was. Only reason I’ve given it 2 stars is because it’s a good location and some of the staff were friendly. Stay in Alannia straight across the road for a much nicer experience.
“Lovely hotel with some (slight) qualifications”
Let’s get the not so great out the way: Check in process is soooo slow. We waited 40 mins Pools are not heated (only an issue out of high season) If you don’t get to breakfast at a reasonable time (pre 9), expect a queue! Lift was really slow (not an issue for us on 2nd floor but may be for those with limited mobility at peak times) But the positives are: 10 minute walk to beautiful cove beach, or slightly longer to one without facilities or the longer Salou stretch round the corner 5 minute walk to all the bars and restaurants Newly refurbed. Comfy beds. Clean rooms. Spacious (we had a family room) Breakfast was high quality with lots of fresh produce Lots of different pool areas and cute kids playground Parking for €6 for 24 hours at the municipal car park opposite (don’t pay for the €12.50 hotel affiliated one!) Bike hire on site We booked this as a last minute deal with easyJet for the Easter weekend and it did not disappoint.
“Great children’s entertainer”
The entertainment started 1 Mar and the children’s entertainment was amazing, out of this world! the hotel is clean and freshly decorated. The food is rather limited with little choice, but ample fresh bread, salad and fruit, vegetarian options are not available. The pool areas are great, clean and subbed plentiful, the kids club fantastic, cleaners daily. A small free gym. However the family rooms while clean are tiny with a bunk bed made from a wardrobe l! It is unsafe with no bar, we pulled the mattress onto the floor which left no space to move at all. The rooms are not acceptable if travelling with young children, further to this they offer half board with no facilities at all to make any food or even a drink, there is only a small bottle fridge in the room. No kettle not even a knife to butter bread- you simply should not be able to offer half board with absolutely zero facilities to support this. That said if you go all inclusive with much older kids I’m sure it would be fine. Such a shame the rooms let down an otherwise great place. While offered baby guard for the ridiculous high and unstable bed- it’s still a definite no. Other guests ended up putting 3/4 year olds in a travel cot. The support regarding this issue was absolutely disgusting. No one cared about the safety element. Finally the receptionists are possibly worst I’ve ever come across, they are slow, rude and unhelpful- they need more staff at busy times- the restaurant is overwhelming at busy times too with a 20 min wait for a hot drink in a morning leaving 2 kids sat alone at a table. It has the potential to be great - just doesn’t quite get it right in some areas. God only knows how this hotel manages in peak season. The kids entertainer absolutely made up for the fails. Overall a good time but definitely a 3 star and not above due to the room and service. Foot note the hotel itself doesn’t allow children to use inflatables- there is a small grass area where kids were playing football and were threatened with the police by security- the kids club is great for little but not really pre teens above, they are not tolerant of this age having fun sadly.
“Staff very accommodating and easy to reach!”
My family and I were due to stay at this hotel in April. Unfortunately we had to amend our plans and the staff were so accommodating! We will definitely be returning with the kids as soon as we can! Thank you so much for your flexibility and kind words.
“Good if like the smell of weed/skunk and don’t mind getting food poisoning!!”
I write this as my complaint got ignored for months and nothing was done about the terrible experience I had. Firstly may I start by saying I used to visit this hotel as a child and wanted to revisit with my 3 yr old. So you can understand how upset I was to have the people next door to me smoking very strong weed. When my toddler napped I couldn’t even ventilate and open the to the point I couldn’t open the sliding doors to our hotel room. Felt like we was trapped. the smell was super strong and my child kept asking what it was. I complained to reception , they spoke to the people, it carried on. I had to move rooms. As a single mum with a disabled child why should I had to be the one to move? The stress. Then I got severely sick on the last night from food poisoning. I can tell you hands down I have never been so poorly in my life. But as I was getting a transfer home the next morning I had no time to go to the medical centre and get the proof they require in order to assist me with my complaint. Due to no fault of my own I was severely sick. I only ate at the hotel as all inclusive so I know it was the hotel food hygiene. I also met another hotel customer the next day awaiting transfer home who was as poorly as me. Same sickness Sam time. Luckily for her she didn’t have a small disabled child to look after. So my point is. Unless I had proof of how poorly I was they dismiss everything. I even had to go to a and e when I got home and be out on a drip. Because of the extent in which I was ill. The jet 2 rep was amazing when helping me at the airport get electrolytes to try help me. All I focussed on was needing to get us home. No apology from the hotel. I was so disappointed by the lack of care they had towards it all. Never again will I go back
“Nice rooms but thats it”
Started well, trying to get meals and hot drinks was a nightmare, queues for the tea/coffee machine... ridiculous! Lovely rooms, very clean. Issue with first aid and no one to see if the injured party was ok. Spokt to reception but they didny care.
