The best
This was a Special holiday for 11 nights to celebrate firstly our 65th Wedding Anniversary and secondly Mrs O's Birthday, as we were married on her 21st Birthday on the 25th of March 1961.
This review is not only about the Hotel. but also about the Management and staff.
I am a Melia Rewards Member, which does give you certain benefits. We arrived at the Hotel on the 17 Match mid afternoon, and Reception has a Priority Check in for Melia Rewards Guests. Whilst check in we were pleased to be welcomed by the Resident Manager Paloma Guerra and the Guest Experience Manager Francesco Crescimanno which was a nice surprise. Reception staff are always very helpful and greet you very warmly. We had booked an Executive Junior Suite, Sea View which was an excellent room with good balcony two chairs and a sunbed perfect for the early morning sun. The Suite had excellent storage facilities, with bathroom and a separate walk in shower with basin and WC, plus a safe , Bathrobes and Slippers. On entering the room a big surprise was a beautiful Flower Arrangement which had been provided from our friends , who had been to the Hotel two weeks earlier. Now I have to praise housekeeping who truly do an excellent job to a very high standard.
We now move on to the Level, a private area for Adults Only where you have Breakfast freshly cooked and then have the luxury of drinks available all day with Tapas at lunch and early evening, Maria who is assistant to Paloma looks after the Level and on reception are Sylvia and Hisham, who look after everyone also taking care are Gloria, Roccia and Sarah with an occasional visit from David the Head Bar Manager. You will also see Fabiola who is a Supervisor in and around all the Hotel doing a great job. The Level is a special space for guests and everyone should use it and never abuse the privilege it offers.
Now let's move to the big day 25 March, having been out for the day, on returning to our room there was an ice bucket with an exceptional bottle of champagne, together with a tray of Canopies and Chocolates. There was also a letter from the King, which made us smile, Francesco, Andrea and Daniel had a great laugh putting this together.
TRASLUZ restaurant is excellent with an la Carte menu, and Maitre Di Jose along with Caterina and all the Waiters provide an excellent level of service. To have all your food freshly cooked, and presented on a plate appropriate to the meal is extra special. On this night we had a specially prepared table with fresh Rose Petals and a wonderful Bottle of Wine with Dinner.
Mrs O also had her second birthday cake of the day, having had one in the morning in the Level.
Sadly we had to depart on the 28th of March, but we will return as it holds a special place in our hearts.

The Resident Manager Paloma, her assistant Maria and the guest Experience team led by Francesco with Andrea and Daniel and all the staff of the Hotel, must be some of the best in the whole Melia Group.
