“Terrible service at the bar”
Service at the bar was simply terrible. Slow, but especially uncourteous. After calling our waiter and waitress repeated times, waving at them and trying to get their attention, they simply ignored us. Then when we called more loudly the head waiter confronted us and scolded us. A simple acknowledgement of our calls would have sufficed. We all understand things can be busy. But ignoring the customer altogether, repeatedly, is equivalent to making you feel like a piece of furniture. If you go, be prepared for this type of poor, entitled, uncourteous service. The customer is definitely not their priority. Skip the poor experience. Go somewhere else.
“Meliá Hotel — A Disappointing First Experience as a Gold Member at the Level”
As a frequent traveler who stays in hotels regularly and holds Gold status or higher across several loyalty programs, including Hilton Honors, I believe I have a fair sense of what good hospitality and professional service should look like. Through my American Express card, I recently received Gold status with Meliá, and my wife and I decided to try both the membership benefits and The Level service for the first time during this trip. Unfortunately, of the three hotels we stayed at on this journey, Meliá was by far the most disappointing. I had booked a The Level Premium Room and expected that this category, combined with Gold status, would come with a clear focus on service quality and guest care. That was simply not the case. From the beginning, the check-in experience was unacceptable. Even without any membership or elite benefits, I would have considered the way we were treated inappropriate. What made it worse was that with almost every apology, there seemed to come a “but” afterwards — as if the priority was always to justify the hotel’s position rather than to improve our stay. This attitude continued throughout the visit. I never felt that I truly benefited from either Gold status or The Level privileges because the staff seemed more interested in explaining their point of view than in making us feel welcome. The window in our The Level Premium Room had not been cleaned properly, which is disappointing at any level, but especially in a room category that is supposed to offer an elevated experience. Dinner in the restaurant was also borderline disappointing, and the half-board arrangement was not communicated clearly at all, which created unnecessary confusion. Overall, this was a very unpleasant experience and one that I regret having chosen, especially because it was uncomfortable for my wife as well. I understand that hotels may have different priorities, but service and hospitality should never feel secondary. Based on this stay, I would not choose Meliá again.
“Superb hotel”
Stayed at this hotel for 4 nights with access to the Level. From my initial booking, right to the day of our departure, the staff were superb throughout the hotel, and especially the team at the Level - Lucia, Vero, Estrella, Juan, and Carmen. Jose and Nicole were also superb in the Quimera restaurant, where the food was excellent every night. The Level lounge was definitely worth the upgrade, with drinks, snacks and tapas available throughout the day, as well as the quality of breakfast being very good indeed. A great hotel, with great staff, in a great location!
“Hotel Melia seville city break.”
We have for the first time visited Seville, and I can’t compliment the staff at Hotel Meliá enough. The hotel staff are very friendly and very welcoming. We celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary there and couldn’t have chosen a better Hotel to stay in. Seville is a beautiful city with great bars and restaurants. Hotel Melia is excellently positioned for taking advantage of this beautiful city. Special thanks goes to Fernando Pieto for acknowledging our 25 year anniversary. Many thanks to all the staff who made our stay memorable.
“A great place to stay”
An excellent location. Great atmosphere. Use of pool. Hotel restaurant was great. Would recommend the normal bed and breakfast staying option as the exclusive option wasn’t value for money.
“Great hotel, brilliant location and exceptional staff”
Location is perfect but the staff are exceptional
