“Great location and service”
Excellent location, service. Comfortable premier double room with sofa bed and a big balcony (no chairs or table though). Fridge stocked with one off supply of soft drinks and water. Nexpresso machine. Pity it was paper cups and wooden stirrers. Excellent and friendly service, especially from Pedro and Letizia who went above and beyond to help me check in for my flight home. Definitely come back here again.
“Stay for 5 nights”
I stayed 5 nights in the hotel, which provided a good Mercure standard. The hotel is close to the city center next to the Prado Museum, walking distance from the Plaza Mayor. The room was cosy and clean, it had a small terrace. The breakfast was fresh and had a big variety included churros. :) The staff was kind and helpful.
“Good Stay”
Located not far from the city centre and also many attractions such as the Museo National del Prado, and very close to Madrid-Puerta de Atocha train station. This hotel is located very close to many restaurants and shopping venues. The rooms are spacious and our room had a fridge and a safe, also a coffee maker and kettle. The WiFi was quite good. The hotel staff were very friendly and really helped us on arrival. Reasonably priced rooms and a great stay.
“Surpassed expectations”
The location is obviously very good, literally across the street from the Prado museum and walkable to all major sites in the city centre. The staff are exceptionally friendly, professional, and helpful. A genuine level of care you’d expect more from a 5-star Sofitel rather than a 3-4 star like Mercure. While the hotel appears rather simple and unassuming from the street, I was very impressed with the rooms. We had booked a Junior Suite on the highest floor and it was more like a true Suite as it had a fully enclosed spacious bedroom separate from the living room area. But the highlight was the huge terrace! The terrace was almost as big as the suite and offered views of the Prado. An overall excellent stay and we will definitely stay here again as we are often in Madrid.
“Friendly Staff and Good Location - Will Return”
Stayed at the Mercure Madrid Centro for one night as an ALL Plat and was accommodated in a spacious and well-furnished corner "privilege" room. I appreciated the additional amenities, including bedroom slippers, a bathrobe, and a complimentary minibar. The Mercure is well located to many tapas spots which I enjoyed trying, and also within walking distance of Cibeles for the 203 to the Airport. It was also conveniently located for access to Retiro Park. Plaza Mayor and Grand Via were only a short walk away. The staff at the Mercure were friendly, particularly Rowena who checked me in. I would recommend this option for ALL guests looking for a place to stay in Madrid.
“Room looks like in an hospital... Manager avoids meeting clients and lies about not being there... Cleaning is just good...”
Room is like an hospital room... Management lies not to meet client... Some employees are more lieutenant than employees... They don't care about you status... Forgot to clean the toilets 2 times... Breakfast is really basic... Neighborhood is nice... No lobby and very small restaurant part for breakfast... Some employees are great and sorry about the situations...
