“A marshmallow mattress, midnight cockroach parties, and a key hunting adventure!”
The kitchen was fully equipped — from dish soap, plates, cups, and kitchenware to cooking pots, pans, a toaster, microwave, stove, and fridge. It even included a washing machine with laundry detergent, and a pull-out drying line from the wall for hanging clothes to dry!
This apartment really tested my patience, my back, and my ability to enjoy a vacation. First off, let’s discuss the thrilling scavenger hunt for the key. Because, who doesn't love a good quest, right? We were instructed to pick up the key from a locker in a locker room about five minutes away from the apartment. Simple, right? Well, getting into the locker room was a piece of cake compared to opening the actual locker. Picture this: You’ve got the code, you dial it in, and surprise! The door refuses to open. We tried, over and over again. And just when it seemed like we were never going to get in, we came to a brilliant realization all by ourselves: The door doesn’t just need the right code; you have to push the darn thing really hard at the exact moment you're one digit away from finishing the code. I know, right? Who needs clear instructions when you can enjoy a five-minute mental workout followed by a good arm workout just to get in? Thanks to our own ingenuity, we finally cracked the code. By the way, the host only advised us that the door might be stiff and to push harder. Very helpful... except for, Not so much! All communication was through Booking.com messages. No phone number, no real-time help—just us sweating in the sun, waiting for replies. A simple phone call would’ve saved a lot of trouble. Of course, the apartment door was just as stubborn as the locker room door. but After all that practice we gained with the locker room door, we managed to get inside. After the first nights we understood that the bed is a back-breaking marshmallow and the cushion is a neck pain wrapped in foam. Then came the cockroaches. A full-on nightly parade in the kitchen—floor, counters, you name it. Add in the loud street noise echoing into the night, and sleep was not on the agenda. If you enjoy puzzles, pests, and back pain, this is your place. Otherwise, come prepared—with low expectations and strong back support. Good luck!

The front door was difficult to close, the handle was loose, I asked the host to fix it, which unfortunately did not happen
“Comfortable Spacious Apartment”
The apartment was clean and perfect for our short stay in Madrid. It is situated in a trendy neighborhood with many bars and amenities nearby. The only downside is that the front entrance to the apartment is accessed directly from the street through an opaque glass door. However, the street felt safe and was relatively quiet. The bed was comfortable and had a memory foam mattress. There is decent storage space in the apartment and also is fitted with a kitchenette to cook meals at home. It would be great if more toilet paper was provided and some hooks were added to the bathroom to hang towels.

Great location, beautiful apartment
We experienced a few cold days during our stay, and couldn't turn the heat on.
