Mirador de Cervantes

Bit of a climb to third floor but not a big issue for us but may be for some. I booked this apartment many months ago as it had parking. I was then told parking wasn’t available and given different reasons why they could no longer offer parking although it seems to still be advertised as available. I was not given enough notice to then book nearby parking from the UK and had to book a car park miles away and catch a bus. It was never made clear if the issue was around Corpus Christi restrictions or a garage owner no longer working with them. It made for a stressful start and end to the trip and could have been avoided if we had been given more notice. Communicating in English wasn’t easy

The first information about arrival indicated we would be met. The day of arrival, however, we received a video on how to open the lockbox. Nowhere in the video was the code specified. Finally had to figure out that the code was what was on the tumblers of the lockbox in the video. Communication with the host was difficult. While the description indicated the apartment was on an upper floor level, it didn’t say it was a third floor walk up with 60 steps. The apartment was cold when we arrived and there were no directions on how to turn on the heat. The inside door handle was broken so you could not leave the apartment unless you used the key. That meant anyone staying in the apartment could not get out if another occupant left with the single key. That was certainly a fire safety hazard. All in all, while the nice apartment is in a great location, the management was very inadequate. The situation is more suited for a young Spanish speaking family and not for retired non-Spanish speaking travelers.
