“nice house with roof terrace, all the amenities you need for your stay, good location”
we liked almost everything about our stay
we didn't stay longer :-)
“Absolutely stunning roof top terrace!”
Excellent location right in the heart of the historical Olvera neighbourhood! Tim our host was quick to respond to any questions or minor issues we had. He kept in touch and checked in often. The house itself was very comfortable. The roof top terrace has beautiful view of the sierras. It's an amazing space to take in wonderful sunsets!
The property is built into the rock and so windows are limited on the main floor. The kitchen was a bit dark but we just bought an extra light that helped.
“Needed a place to sleep”
Clean, comfortable beds
No soap in bathroom or shower
“This could be a very nice place to stay if the owner listens to his guest’s concerns”
The house was nice and clean
I hate writing anything negative but in my opinion the house is unsafe. First of all the stairs start right outside the bedroom door at an angle. If you forget and step out carelessly you could have a fall. Secondly halfway down you have to remember to duck or else you will hit the ceiling. I forgot on our second day and walked right into it and cut my head. The disappointing thing is that when I texted the owner and told him what had happened together with a photo of the cut on my head and suggested that he really had to do something about the ceiling as it’s not safe he texted back to say that it has never happened to him and he can’t do anything about the ceiling. That was disappointing as firstly just because it hasn’t happened to him doesn’t make it safe , secondly I work in the building trade and you can quite easily alter the ceiling, ( I have done that in our own house that we are renovating in Olvera). That is the last correspondence I had from him. I feel I have to point those things out for the safety of future guests
