“Comfy apartment with beautiful views and terrace”

We chose the Mirador del Olivo Beach primarily for the fantastic terrace and view, which did not disappoint (though the weather did!) and we managed to sit out a few days. The views are spectacular. The walk into town takes about 10 to 15 minutes all downhill however the walk back up is extremely steep and we only managed that on a couple of occasions, luckily plenty of taxis around, cost between 6 and 9 euros depending on what time and route taken. There were buses but not frequent or absent when we were there. The apartment is very comfy, beds and settee great, tv and wifi worked perfectly. The flat is well equipped, the host is very generous and provided kitchen basics such as salt and pepper, coffee, tea, sugar, paper towels, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, washing powder and bathroom basics, which was very nice. The swimming pool is also great, it was quiet whilst we were there and we had the pool to ourselves on the two occasions we used it, such a pity the weather wasn't better!

To be improved

The property address is a bit confusing, we arranged to meet at no 25 Calle Nuevo Miramar but our taxi driver could not find it and drove down various roads in Cotobro. This was not helped by the owner not responding to his phone calls. We worried we had been scammed. Eventually the driver got through to the owner and found the apartment (no number is on it), we then had to wait for the owner to show up, nearly an hour later than agreed. It wouldn't have been a problem if the owner had just communicated she would be late and answered her phone. There was a smell from the drains, it helped to leave the window open. The bathroom curtain rod needs updating, it fell down on numerous occasions. The kettle needs replacing, there were bits of plastic floating in it. Neither of these things spoilt our holiday but need to be addressed.

Bed very comfortable, free access to swiming pool. The view from terrace exceptional. You feel like at home. The host was flexible to extend 1 hour more during check-out.
