Visiting friends in a nearby village, this was the closest and by far the best value we found. The house (or 'castle' as the kids called it) is adjacent to a small set of holiday lodges on a tiny village and is always full in the Summer.. The photos do not do this place justice- the renovation of this truly beautiful old building is not only wonderful but extremely comfortable, clean and contemporary. The staff were so helpful ahead of and during our stay and were ready to show us around as soon as we arrived. The only sad thing was that we were only there for 2 nights and did not have enough time to appreciate everything it had to offer. About 45 mins drive from Santiago de Compostela, I would say this would make a wonderful retreat for a few days after completing the walk to take in some countryside and appreciate the sauna, BBQ, terrace, courtyard and spa baths. There's also a great washing machine and dryer!
