Oassium Hotel - Adults Only

We chose this hotel for the seaside resort and its proximity to the beach except to discover on arrival that all the paving of the coastline is being redone and still a very ugly and uncomfortable construction site with mountains of gravel. This is a large undertaking, not small changes and it should be pointed out this discomfort and not being an unpleasant surprise.

During our visit, the beach area was under construction, which really affected the overall atmosphere, it didn’t look appealing or feel very comfortable. While it was still possible to swim and relax by the shore, I’d recommend checking in advance to ensure the construction is completed if the beach is important to your stay. Additionally, we encountered one staff member who was quite rude and unwelcoming. She didn’t speak English and consistently gave us unfriendly looks without any clear reason. Unfortunately, her behaviour was the main source of discomfort during our visit.

The air conditioning in the room doesn't really deserve its name because it has almost zero effect even if adjusted to maximum cooling (34 Centigrade outside). The swimming pool is OK but the water was extremely warm, so you would get cooked sous-vide if you stay longer inside the warm pool. The promenade is currently being re-built (July 2025), which results in a lot of noise and an ugly view at the beach, however, that has nothing to do with the hotel itself but I think it should be mentioned.

Reception was unusual in that it was individual sitting at the desk. This may sound good but the single person made the process prolonged. There was the opportunity for the receptionist better complete the advice of information but she was rushed. There seemed to be some aspect of the checking in that was not done as I could not order a drink at the pool and charge to my room, even having been tagged with a bracelet! Sorry I do not carry cash whilst wearing swimming shorts in a hotel! The response from the staff member was close to rude! So it was a trip to reception whilst so dressed and a telephone call to sort out. There was absolutely nil shade over the pool and the temperature was high 30 degrees. The car parking was almost a kilometre away in a public park that still required payment. The Hotel parking was closer, but not close, and cost 15 Euros a day which was mainly empty. We felt this was a "packaged" holiday place and did not cater for international travellers with a hire car and luggage. To use the spa you have to walk out into the street and down a block only to be told we needed hair nets! Same response, no cash with swimmers on so couldn't buy any.... seems the tag only gets you into the room. Lastly the entire beach front was being excavated to install drainage with 4metre high piles of gravel along the road so you couldn't even see the sea! Presumably not the hotel's fault but it should be noted so you can decide if this is important. For us it was and was our final stay after two months travelling looking forward to a relaxing Beach Resort, not a civil construction site complete with rock breakers hammering away as a background tune whilst on the beach. We booked only two days before arriving and had we known we would not have booked!! So we felt we had been totally mislead!
