“The first night we arrived, the room I'd booked was not available. The employee on reception apologised and brought us to a smaller room on the top floor. He apologised also, for the fact that the whole top floor had no working air conditioning and they were waiting for an engineer. He'd bought a portable air conditioning unit. So we thought we'd be OK, but once in the room, we realised the noise would keep us awake. The pipe from the unit had to be fed out through the open window. This defeated the object, as hot air was coming in from 38° outside. So we turned off the unit in order to sleep. I had to get up at 3.30am to wash, as we were soaked in sweat. Plus, a few mosquitoes had come in and had bitten us, and we were awake the rest of the night. We were moved to the room I'd booked at 10am and I have to say that Bartolomé and his wife were so apologetic and helpful- they'd really done their best in a bad situation. The second room, i.e the room I'd booked for both nights, was far superior and if we'd had both nights there, I'd have been giving a top class review. · Cons: The owner/boss was in Malaga, and she decided who went to which room. No contact from her at all. Her employees were exemplary. I'd booked the best room as we were on our honeymoon. Instead we had the worst night of our holiday! And still no contact after I emailed. This was NOT the room I paid for. I actually ended up seeing a nurse about the bites. And we had to sleep half the day after the night awake on the first night. Also, to be aware..... as well as possibly not being assigned the room you book, this hotel has no lift and steep stairs- it's an old building and furnishings are quaint and look absolutely beautiful. If you get the right room, with air con, it's a nice hotel. But I'm disgusted at the arbitrary change of rooms. I can only thank the staff who did their best. I wouldn't darken tge door ever again, though.”

“Worst communication. You can inform the client first and let him decide if he wants to keep the reservation or find anot”
The best

It was very clean. In the reception area they had a food and pastry corner that were free for the guests

After we did the check in, they said that The AC wasn’t working but they’re going to fix it. We left for a walk and when we have returned in couple of hours, we found them in the room with another unit put in the corner of the room that was really noisy and didn’t do anything because in order to function, it need it to have the window open. So we didn’t have AC and it was very hot in the room. The lady from the reception told us to read the manual of the new AC to make it work.

“Perfect little room for a short stay.”
The best

I loved the location right in the center and near the sea. The gentleman that greet it us was super attentive and helpful. For a 1 night stay it was perfect.

To be improved

The room had a bit of a smell but I guess that in historic buildings that’s an issue at times. But it didn’t dampen our enjoyment of the room.

“It flattered to deceive.”
The best

The hotel flattered to deceive. There was rarely anyone on reception. The property was infested with mosquitoes at night. They were not clear about what were complimentary refreshments in the annex of the reception. I will definitely not be returning.

To be improved

As above.

“The rooms are located in a narrow alley in a typical Spanish house. The rooms are also very interestigly named in Spanish (Felicidad, Amor, Suenos, Suerte,...) and furnished in an old-fashioned glamorous style. Very nice :) On the ground floor, there were free cold drinks and a sweet snack. The room is not far from the garage, the market, the coast - top and quiet location! · Cons: The beds are very very small. I am attaching a photo of the double bed. I would also like a slightly larger trash can, there was only a mini trash can next to the toilet.”
