“Unique apartment near Alhambra”
An absolutely unique and welcoming place. The apartment (we've been in #5, right above the restaurant) is huge and very well decorated. We had absolutely all the amenities we would possibly need, wifi was fast and reliable. The owner was always at the bar (the restaurant is closed for the summer) and was happy to answer any questions. We could take drinks to our apartment. Just an absolutely perfect stay.
Parking. The hotel is in a pedestrian area. The walk from the St. Augustine parking is not too bad, but finding the parking garage was a real challenge. It's also not cheap, around 40 euro per day.
“Very nice”
You live in a mall Palace, location, big rooms
“Unforgettable stay !”
A stunning location at a XVI century arab house, 2 min away from the historical center. Really really charming !! I strongly recommend it
“Beautiful Palacio in the Albaicin. We would return in a heart beat”
Beautiful old Palacio with patio, gorgeous furnishings, view of Alhambra from our flat on the top floor, perfect location, really good bed
The muted lighting in the room was nice once your eyes got used to it, but needed to be brighter and dimmable, the lack of lighting on the stairs, the shower/bath was beautiful, but needs a holder for the shower head, there was a kitchen sink and a small hot plate, but lack of kitchen stuff and it was obvious you weren’t meant to cook, but that was ok as we were happy to eat out
“Interesting Moorish-style apartment in Albaicin; dark inside and requires a walk with luggage”
My husband, two sons and I stayed in the Palacio 2 BR apartment #5 with for one night in Granada. We appreciated the perfect location for us for walking to the Alhambra, straight down to the Plaza Nueva, and for walking up the hill to our dinner spot with a superb view. The Palacio has a few apartments to rent with a central courtyard. The building and rooms have a Moorish look and feel to them, which was interesting to see and experience. When we arrived, walking with our luggage, we went to the bar at the attached Taberna del Beso and the man pouring drinks called the owner for us who came and gave us our key. There is a number pad entry at the front door and key for our apartment door, both were convenient. The bedrooms have space heaters for warmth; it was cold at night in March (40sF). Thank you.
We experienced several challenges with the apartment and its location. The good and bad of the location is it is in the middle of the Albaicin, which is the old city of narrow, spaghetti streets and stairways. It is mostly pedestrian only. We parked in a 24euro lot near another hotel at the end of Plaza Nueva and walked with our luggage 20 minutes on cobblestone streets to reach the Palacio. This is not for the small, old, or faint of heart. Additionally, those streets are walked by loud tourists at all hours of the day and night. So there is quite a bit of street noise in the apartment until about 3 am, which is part of life in the Spanish city. The apartment itself is charming and very dark inside. The windows have lovely wooden shutters and a layer of glass outside and inside to keep colder air (in March) and noise out, but the result is it is hard to let sunlight in. We also didn’t have access to wifi during our stay. We wanted to get directions to our dinner and how to bring our car up closer to the apartment for departure, but we didn’t see the owner again after check-in and the Taberna is not open in the morning when we were leaving. The owner prefers phone calls for contact and we were using text and emails, so getting questions answered before and during our trip was difficult. A few repair notes for the owner: the space heater in the main living area and the sleeping sofas was not heating and the mini-fridge was not cooling.
“Excellent stay in an old house”
