Staff were exceptional, always helpful with any request and provided great service.
Conveniently located near tourist attractions, easy access to transport.
Overall very positive experience with a few minor drawbacks.
Overall good value considering location and included amenities.
Breakfast options were good but perceived as somewhat overpriced.
Facilities such as breakfast and bar were appreciated but lacked some variety.
“Excellent - beautiful interiors, great location, delicious breakfast, friendly staff”
“Beautiful comfortable hotel, but service is at best befitting of a 3-star hotel”
Beautiful property but really disappointing, sub-par service. Cold, dispassionate front desk staff, which is perhaps still acceptable, till our prebooked private minivan transfer to the airport didn’t arrive the morning of our departure. This was booked and charged by the hotel at €75 for a 15-20 min ride, which we assumed would be a reliable, comfortable experience. Long story short: no care or proper follow through (car doesn’t arrive past the arranged time and when we asked we’re dismissively told “it’s OTW”; then after another 10 mins they arranged 2 taxis to take the 5 of us, and tried to just usher us in without an explanation; when questioned were told there was some problem with the minivan, and “this is the best we can do” and “we are paying for the taxis” - by this very curt young staff member, who was clear in showing his displeasure of having to deal with this situation. Only at the end, when we got into the car did the hotel manager say “sorry for the experience” - after 20 mins of stress and delay. The first apology or any show of care for our inconvenience and stress. It all really felt like 3-star hotel service, at best, unfortunately.
“Great place in a wonderful location”
Beautiful space in old town with excellent food and great staff. Hope to go back some day. Well appointed rooms with many amenities
“Disappointing Experience Below Expected Luxury Standards”
I had high expectations for Palacio Solecio given its affiliation with the Small Luxury Hotels chain, but my stay unfortunately didn’t match that standard. The late check-out was limited to just 30 minutes despite the hotel clearly not being full. The sink in my room didn’t work properly, and the Chromecast was not functioning. I was also on the first floor, where it was noticeably noisy and made it harder to relax. I’m sharing this feedback constructively—there’s real potential here, but the experience fell short of what I expected from the brand.
“A Very Good Hotel”
This is a very good hotel to tour Malaga. It is located in the old town on the traffic free area and most places are within walking distance. The restaurant is worth visiting as the quality of the food and service is very good. Our visit was enhanced by the exceptionally helpful and friendly staff, a special mention has to be made for Carmen on Reception. The first rooms we were offered in the annex were too dark and only had a view of a wall. Our room in the palace on the second floor was bright and very well furnished. There was some noise at nighttime as a result of people in the street below - but that is inevitable in a traffic free area on a holiday weekend.
“Exceed Expectation”
We travelled as a couple with our 17-month-old daughter and stayed at Palacio Solecio in Málaga. We had booked a Solecio Deluxe Room, and it turned out to be much bigger than we expected: spacious, beautifully decorated, and equipped with a large wardrobe with plenty of drawers, perfect for organising everything during our stay. The bathroom had both a walk-in shower and a bathtub, which was ideal when travelling with a small child. The staff were exceptional, always helpful with any request. At check-in, we were accompanied to our room, and everything was explained in detail. A special mention goes to Vitor, who checked us in and was incredibly kind throughout our entire stay. Breakfast was included in our rate and offered both a buffet and an à la carte menu. We also tried the hotel bar: great cocktails! Overall, this is a hotel we would absolutely recommend and return to on our next visit to Málaga. The location is excellent, too. Great value for the money spent.
