“Parada do Camino”

The best

A self catering apartment with two rooms allowing 4x persons. A nice breakfast basket was left giving bread, croissant, cake and mixed tea and coffee. Towels and toiletries supplied. Key code is supplied for entry and all went smoothly. The appt is 5mins walk from many restaurants.

To be improved

Price might be slightly high, but facilities are all there and the light breakfast supplied helps. The location is good to walk into the restaurant area. A Camino sello would be good.

“Good location, poor communication”

The best

The apartment was spacious and comfortable. The bread and jams for toast and the pastries for breakfast were a nice extra. It was well located in the old town.

To be improved

Unfortunately our experience was that the communication from the host was poor. We did not receive any Booking.com message directly from the hosts prior to our stay. Instead we got a what’s app about two weeks before our stay from a different name and phone number to what was on Booking.com. This was confusing and looked like a spam message so we didn’t reply to it and the host never followed up. On the morning we were booked to arrive, we messaged on Booking.com saying we would arrive between 4pm and 5pm. This was accepted by the hosts. We arrived at 4pm after a day walking on the Camino Ingles only to find a locked door and lockbox at 29b (it says 29 on Booking.com) and no contact or code from the hosts. We messaged them and it was 30 minutes before we got a reply with the lockbox code and could finally get inside. Sadly this spoilt our experience of the Parada do Camino de Santiago. There was also an issue with the hot water cutting out in the shower so it would suddenly run only cold water.

“Great option to stay in Betanzos just off the Camino route”

Best place we stayed on the Camino Ingles. They thought of everything from leaving food for breakfast, to a nice bed , hot shower and clear wifi. I loved the high ceilings in the space, perfect for the three of us.
