Parador de Albacete

It could be better - with softer pillows, lighter weight less restrictive duvet style bed coverings and a polite notice to guests not to disturb others requiring sleep beyond 05.30h if occupying an upper floor room and wearing noisy shoes. Very good breakfast.

Nice people, good service, great local food, but the rooms need a total make over and have bad smell

We were a small group and celebrated a friend´s birthday, stayed 2 nights in that wonderful parador. The atmosphere is amazing and quiet, the food is very good, rooms spacious and clean and most outstanding the friendly staff. Thanks for an unforgettable stay!

Bottom line is the place is too far from the city to enjoy a visit. It's ok if you like being remote, but we went to Albacete to get to know it.

Booked this for a valentine weekend. Unfortunately there was a huge wedding being catered so the restaurant was unavailable. Had lunch in the bar which was grim. I ordered the garlic soup with a “roasted egg” and my wife ordered a cheese salad with walnuts. Having corrected my pronunciation of “ajo” the waitress proceeded to bring my wife a fruit salad and my soup, with a confit egg was tepid/cold. We asked the correct dish and hot soup and the waitress argued the toss on what we ordered. The simple fact was she was rushed off her feet trying to cope on her own while her colleagues serviced the wedding. She took the dishes away and brought the correct salad along with my original soup that had been put under the salamander with the same confit egg. It was pretty awful and I refuse to eat reheated egg. The salad was very good. Evening was a steak bocadillo which was excellent followed by dessert which was equally good. Dinner on the last night was in the restaurant and the food was excellent. The lamb stew with almonds was delicious and my better half had pork cheeks which she raved about. Desserts were fabulous. Minor hiccups but generally first rate.

We stayed at this hotel in 2025 with our 2 small dogs(pugs) It was difficult to make the booking as we had 2 dogs.The hotel is old and tired but adequate for our needs. As the hotel in on route to final destination we decided to book again this year. Once again difficult to try and make a booking. Nothing has changed from us, we wanted 1 double room with our 2 dogs. We were told that we would have to book 2 rooms with one of us sleeping in one room with a dog and the same for the other dog. So they wanted us to pay for 2 rooms, which meant my wife and I having to sleep in 2 different rooms and our dogs separated and also sleeping in different rooms. How ludicrous. The hotel said it was because their policy had changed. You were allowed 1 25kg dog in the room but not allowed to have 2 small dogs that only weighed 17 kg together. We always take the dogs bedding and food and drink bowls. The hotel did offer us a special rate on 2 rooms at 139 euros a night and 25euros night per dog. Which is actually more expensive than on line. The hotel is definitely not pet friendly and certainly not up to the standard the stars show. Needless to say we will never stay at this hotel again.
