“Hotel a long way outside city and needs some updating. Better options available.”
We chose to stay in a Parador because they are often historical buildings within the centre of the city where they’re located. Unfortunately, we should have done our research a bit more carefully. This hotel is a long way outside the centre of Cordoba, and could belong to any large chain; there really wasn’t any “soul” to the place. Obviously, we were there in February, and it was very windy and rainy for the whole time we were there, meaning the terraces and garden (both which looked like they would be lovely in the summer, as did the pool) were all closed. The staff were all very polite and helpful, our half board food options were okay and there was parking: but the hotel badly needs some TLC: the outside walls had peeling paint, and the interior was dated. You are high above the city, but not the scenic part: the views are of modern factories and roads, rather than beautiful Roman / Islamic buildings. Overall, not terrible: but do your research: I think there are better places to stay inside the city of Cordoba.
“poor service but beautiful hotel”
glorious pool
staff very inattentive waited 45 min to place dinner order, short tempered and unfriendly Obviously understaffed
“Not as good as it used to be”
I have stayed at various Paradores throughout Spain - and this one was ok, but somewhat all Paradores are not what they used to
“Quality hotel in a verdant hillside setting overlooking the city”
Our room was fabulous. Excellent dining (and it was still warm enough to eat outside on the terrace overlooking the gardens). Ample free parking.
“Away from the hustle and bustle”
This is a modern parador, rather than the usual historic buildings, but it is very comfortable and has a fabulous pool and gardens. Reception staff especially are really helpful and welcoming. It is out of the centre of Cordoba, but its tranquility is worth it and it's a short taxi ride into the main area of town. The restaurant is good and the terrace is a lovely area to have a pre-dinner drink in the evening.
“Oasis overlooking the gem that is Cordoba”
Just such a wonderful location, elegant and classy grounds and terrace. Friendly staff. Just a fantastic stay.
