Parador de Teruel

Great hotel just outside of Teruel with free parking. All staff very helpful. Room very nice with view across the town.

We were used to the luxury of the Paradors of the past. Our sat nav took us to the centre of the city, when we eventually arrived at the hotel, the receptionist Tod us we should have ignored the zip code it happens all the time ( if so why not fix it) The whole place was tired, rooms & also stair carpets that were badly stained. There is no food available till 8.30 pm in the evening, we chose to eat in the bar which was a terrace & extremely cold, we & other people asked for the heating to be turned up that did not happen. Breakfast was a big disappointment at €20 not good value, the bread was frozen & the scrambled eggs were undiscrbably bad. We did not enjoy it at all. All in all a-bit of faded grandeur that was not a pleasant stay.

Not one of the better Paradores. Superior room had not been cleaned properly and 'toilet' smell in bedroom. Had to ask for the refund for the difference between a Superior and Standard room.....this should have been automatic.

We were made to feel welcome as soon as we arrived. This continued throughout our two nights stay. This was our first Parador visit and it won’t be our last.

Easy parking right outside the front door. Our room was very disappointing looking over the side of the hotel. Everywhere in the hotel was extremely hot including our room. The air con didn’t work and we opened the window, apart from loads of flying insects coming in, the road noise was very loud. We didn’t sleep at all well. It isn’t possible to walk into Teruel as the road outside is very busy and there is no footpath. The swimming pool had closed on 15 September. We ate in the bar area which was very hot and as we weren’t able to open a window, it rather made the experience very uncomfortable. The staff are nice, breakfast was buffet style (again, the restaurant was very hot and several people were fanning themselves) and we weren’t offered any hot food so not sure if they serve it. None of the waiting staff came near us so we weren’t able to ask. As the purpose of our stay was to eat and get a good nights sleep we definitely won’t stay here again.

Nice Paradore stay but down by lack of staff & average meals. Other Paradores are better. But we enjoyed our stay & ate out in Teruel. (*extensive roads works going on in the old town so avoid driving in. You might never get out!)
