“A Stay Straight Out of a Storybook”
Pazo de Turbisquedo is nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that William has an exquisite eye for detail and a deep love for preserving the beauty and soul of this noble home. Every corner is curated with taste and care, honoring the home’s historical richness while offering all the comfort you could ask for. We stayed in the Tower Room with the attached suite—and what a dream that was! The secret passage leading to the tower felt like a scene from a fairytale and was truly the cherry on top of an unforgettable experience. The beds were, without a doubt, the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in—plush, soft, and indulgent in all the best ways. The shower had great water pressure and heated up perfectly, which was such a treat after long days exploring. While I brought my own soaps and shampoos, I noticed the provided ones were vegan—a thoughtful touch that didn’t go unnoticed. The grounds were meticulously maintained, and the garden bursting with fresh vegetables added a special warmth to the property. Breakfast was charming and delicious, featuring locally handmade jam that made each bite feel like a connection to the region’s heart. What struck me the most was how each piece of furniture felt true to the era of the home—nothing felt out of place, yet everything was welcoming. William’s hospitality elevated the entire stay. He is the soul of this space, and I’m beyond thankful for the care he poured into making our visit so memorable. If you’re lucky enough to book a stay here, prepare to be transported into time.
“The highlight of our holiday. Excited to return to this beautiful place again soon.”
Such an incredibly special place. We had the pleasure of spending several dreamy days here between Christmas and the New Year, and it could not have been better. Although we knew next to nothing about the area on arrival, hosts Bill and Juan Carlos kindly clued us in and pointed us in the right direction. They put so much care into the stewardship of this lovely home, restoring it, knowing its long history, and sharing it with others. And we loved learning all about it. Our room was very comfy, and the breakfasts were big and delicious. We look forward to returning to the Ribeira Sacra and waking up here again soon.
“Great and kind service, even over my "last" minute reservation. Have to come back to visit all interesting spots owner recommend us to see and to get their walnut pay recipe :)”

“A dip into Galician history, an amazingly unusual property and a wonderful unravelling of historical context by William. An american gentleman in the heart of the deeply powerful Ribeira Sacra, his telling of the story of the tower woth the stay alone.”

“Charming autenticitetin home with history”
This is a very special and unique home , and I felt very privileged to have been able to stay there. The building is impressive, steeped in history and in the most gorgeous location. William and Juan- Carlos are both very welcoming and helpful, and my room, with it's copper bath and four poster bed, was delightful. Breakfast was a great experience too...home made cake and locally made jams and great bread, croissants yoghurt...eggs , bacon if desired. I hope to return as it was magical
I loved everything
“Unveiling a lifetime prize...”
The premises. Not just the ancient manor house but all the entourage (yard, forest, water source...) and that's just the beginning... the whole experience was great thanks to our host, William, with his "colleagues" Skkipy, Merlin and Farruca 😉
Not having foreseen 3 days was waaay too short to enjoy the full pack (area and accommodation) to the max!
