I almost got electrocuted using the plug - I had to go to the hospital. I plugged in my adaptor and the socket sparked and all the lights were not functioning for the duration of my stay. Luckily 1 plug still worked for the fan. This was dangerously - I think the electrical is very old surely. I was also not expecting such a teeny room but I guess that’s a Pension. It was fine. Also, it was a little confusing to find the room. A saw an elderly man completely lost going in circles - he had to call his friend for help.

“Living directly in the oldtown · Cons: Old parquet floors. If someone woke up during night and went to the bathroom, all hostel woke up together with him or her. I put in the fridge bottle of wine, someone stole it. Last one is not owner's problem, but be aware”

“Was pleasantly surprised by this place after reading the mid reviews. I booked over a week's stay here and had a wonderful time. The rooms are noisey due to the apartment being in the old town, however, earplugs did the trick for me. My surprisingly large single room (room 6) was at the end of the hallway so I only had to share part of a wall with my neighbor which may have helped with some sound issues reported by other reviewers. Again, wearing earplugs made the noise a non-issue. The bathrooms were cleaned every day and I never had an issue with a lack of hot water. The location of the property is excellent and the check in process was easy. The room did not have ac, however, it came with a powerful fan that helped a great deal with the heat and summer stuffiness. · Cons: Inconsiderate guests shuting doors loudly. The mattress was a little firm for me.”

“Inexpensive, central location -but no modcons! Basic and can manage for short duration.”

Central location. Easy to access. Rooms & toilets v clean. Fan in room. Shared bathrooms were very clean, 3 between 7 rooms. Security/codes good, safe. Nice to have window/door that opens and can see out onto street & take a breath of air & see activity passing by. No lift, stairs only. Accommodation was Basic but as expected for €. However, if I return (and there is no Bruce Springsteen concert on, hence accommodation booked up!) I would stay in accommodation with a few more mod cons. But v good for a € watching traveller that wants to be central & experience the city.

To be improved

For price, not much to dislike. Noisy at night -as expected as so central and bars open late. Hot -as expected, no aircon, but fan in room was great. Towels were a bit old & hard and there is no change of towels, so that is probably worse bit when staying 3 nights.
