Pensión Estrella

I paid for air conditioning, in the middle of summer. There was no air conditioning when I arrived. The property was impossible to find as there were no signs, the room was the size of a shoe box, with rock hard beds, the shower nozzle holder was broken so it couldn’t be used, the staff only spoke Spanish and sent too many emails bombardino me days leading up to my stay and during. It was like a sauna in the room. Horrible experience.

It was not sign posted, so was extremely difficult to find. All communication was in Spanish, so I didn’t realise I had to register in order to gain my access codes to get into the building. It was by luck the cleaner was there who let me in and called the owner to organise my access. The owner was quite rude!? It was on the 2nd floor of an apartment building a the central stair well wax obviously being used as a urinal. There was also a man who sat outside the door all day - we couldn’t tell if he was security? Or Loitering?

I received lots and lots of emails, some were v confusing I was eventually given an access code which worked on outside and inner door BUT needed a " bell" symbol on the room door. There was no indication of this and at 9.30 on a Saturday night, I almost couldn't open the door. A v helpful next door neighbour and the on-call person on the phone helped.
