Note for Bike Tourists: Bikes are not allowed in the rooms, so make sure to bring a good lock for street storage! We had a nice stay at Pension Santa Clara. The location is incredible and the price is right for travelers on a budget. Mirian, the host, was super kind, responsive, and accommodating for our stay. We really appreciated her quick communication.

To be improved

In general everything was good, but extremely minimalist. I think a few minor changes would really level up the accommodations. Here were the things we noticed: 1. There is no air conditioning, which is fine, but the fan is mounted in a weird location so it doesn’t move the air well. Because of that you need to keep the window open until late at night, but you are right above a bar, so it was pretty loud until about 1 AM. If the fan were movable, higher powered, and there was a window screen, I think all of these issues (except the noise) would be eliminated. 2. Only two small pillows are provided. May sound picky, but at least two more pillows would be awesome (for the ‘ol knees). 3. There was only one small bar of soap and two shampoos, which enabled my partner and I to take one shower. Unfortunately, that left us without soap for our hands for the rest of the stay. Easily remedied, but I think more toiletries would help.

“Perfect for a younger demographic!!”

Location!’ it was clean and somewhat non-descriptive. The staff were excellent, little amenities like kettle and instant coffee, shower and bed were great. Perfect for a younger demographic.

To be improved

Unfortunately we didn’t really understand size and “Pension”. We only stayed 3 nights and didn’t unpack.
