“Beautiful views, decent sized room and bathroom, good location, lovely ocean views. Hotel room was decent value for money. · Cons: On arrival, we had to wait to check in because it was Saturday toward the end of midday meal service and they were clearly understaffed. We sat outside and read for a while, but would rather have checked in (note that we arrived within the stated check-in hours, we weren't early). Restaurant was *very* expensive (we foolishly chose something priced by weight and did not expect to be eating such a heavy serving of it).. Double bed sagged in the middle.”

“Great place to eat and stay - service hit & miss.”

The best

The location, bedroom, restaurant and property were great! The male staff member, who may have been the owner based on his kindness, attentiveness and hospitality, acted with genuine care. He personally handled all of the dinner and breakfast services (and check-out).

To be improved

I was made to wait at the check in counter for 40 minutes as 3 female staffers worked around me “because they were too busy”. When one finally decided she had time to check me in, it took all of one minute.

“A great rural hotel for cyclists.”

The best

Very friendly, responsive staff. Took good care of our electric bikes. We liked the fact that you could get a decent supper and breakfast in an isolated and beautiful setting

To be improved

There were a lot of flies in the room. We understand this is in a countryside location, but it would be great if something could be done about the flies in the bedroom.

I love it here, right on the Camino. It’s the third year I have done the Del Norte and have always stayed here. The staff, food and overall hotel experience is great and exceptional
