Piso en el Carmen cerca del Mercado Central

The building next door is being demolished / restored. There was building work from 8am until 6pm every day with very loud drilling and banging. Unfortunately we didn't see previous remarks from guests before booking. We tried to contact the host about it but he just ignored our message. I wouldn't recommend staying there until next year May 2026, at least, considering the amount of work that will happen next door. It is impossible to rest in the flat - The noise is so loud and the walls are thin, this ruined our break anoyingly.

Building works next door, extremely noisy so could no rest. Bed very uncomfortable.

Photos of apartment were deceiving, the pictures show bright rooms but it was very dark and there was a fusty smell. Tiny balcony. Apartments adjacent and across from us were being completely gutted and renovated, workers started at 8.30 most mornings Mon/Fri and finished at about 6pm. Photos with review show both apartments under construction.. The noise was really unbearable and peaked and troughed throughout the whole day. We couldn't stay in the apartment at all during the day. We contacted the hosts but got little satisfaction.

Unfortunately the entire 2 weeks we were there the house opposite was being demolished. I know this is a working city (not Disneyland) so it was just unfortunate timing. However, it was quiet outside of normal working hours and we slept well.
