“Great and comfortable apartment for exploring the city”

The best

Very nice and clean apartment, with free toiletries and everything needed in the kitchen. Great location with walking distance to Old Town, bars with pintxos and Guggenheim museum. Many cafes and supermarkets close by. Note that most supermarkets are not open on Sunday.

The best

Amazing and cozy flat right in the centre of Bilbao. Extremely quiet too. We were here for the Europa league final and it was located 15 minutes walk in one direction to the stadium and 15 minutes walk in the other direction to the old town and was perfect

The apartment was clean and comfortable, and well equipped. The heating controls worked very well.

To be improved

Window treatment was very poor; blocked almost no light. Very sheer. Photo taken in the middle of the night. Access to the apartment was terrible. Address given was inaccurate, as it was for a fancy entrance some 100 feet from the tourist entrance. Steep slippery driveway down to the access door. Stairway up to the second-floor apartment was a dimly lit wooden spiral staircase, very, very narrow on the inside. and slightly slanted. Super difficult to carry heavy suitcases up to the apartment.

“We had a fantastic 5-day stay in Bilbao and this apartment served us very well.”

The best

The location was pretty central and in a quiet area. We were able to walk to most places but also used taxis for longer trips. The apartment was very clean and functional and we felt safe. The beds and bedrooms were very comfortable and the shower was good. There was plenty of storage space. There was no air conditioning but we could open all the 3-way windows, the September weather was pleasant. Access was simple. We had a code for the outer gate and our host allowed us access remotely. We then collected our keys once inside and left them there on departure. There is one flight of stairs up to the apartment which was fine for us.

To be improved

Our host sent us a long e-mail in Spanish for our arrival which would have been better in English as we were en route and had difficulty translating. Communication was adequate after this via Whatsapp. We did not like the alleyway to the entrance however it was enclosed by a gateway. There was no view of the street only other apartments but we were out all day anyhow. A kettle to boil water for tea would have been useful.

The flat is in a good location. A short walk of 10-15 minutes to all main attractions in the city. The flat was also super clean which was great!
