Playaolid Suites & Apartments

I relied heavily on TA reviews prior to booking our holiday. Due to having 2 teenages 14 & 15yrs with us. I'm glad I wasnt put off by the few negative reviews. Firstly staff are excellent, helpful & welcoming, from arriving late at night, as restaurant was about to close they took us down to eat, prior to check in, but they gave out a sandwhich & fruit plus a bottle of water when we did check in. Restaurant staff were great, food good, varied & plentiful no complaints. Drinks good, Coke is the only thing I heard anyone complain about. The hotel is a little in need of a refurb, but beds were comfortable sheets & towels clean & replaced regularly. Plenty of hot water. Sunbeds always available too. Entertainment room at night, can't comment really went in once to watch parrot show. Location great for buses, they stop right outside to everywhere pretty much. We would stay again, thank you to PlayaOlid staff, you made our stay easy.

Just got home from a week at this hotel with my two children. It was a great base to explore the area. Our Apartment was spacious, clean and the balcony was great. The food was good quality and varied, different themed meals. The mexican singers in the dining room one evening was a good touch. Pool was clean and I was able to get a sun lounger, regardless what time of day. The staff were brilliant. We arrived late due to a flight delay so the staff made sure we got some food. The ladies who provide the entertainment all day were especially great and I thought them doing a special birthday treat for a little girl was a great touch. There were a few downsides but I wouod return here. The cola wasn't nice, if you are a light sleeper bring ear plugs

We had a lovely stay the end of March/beginning of April. Great value for the money we paid. The food was tasty and there was a good selection. The rooms were basic but fine for what we needed, I liked that we had a high chair and changing mat in the room for my 10 month old baby. The hotel was very clean, there was always people cleaning the paths and pool areas and the staff were attentive at meal times clearing plates fast. I liked that the pool area didn’t open till 10am as it meant there was no rush to get sun beds and could have a slow morning getting ready and breakfast. The pools were quite cold and we didn’t really use them, just the small kids pool which my 2 children splashed in. There was rarely other people at this pool and always sun beds available. The snack bars and drinks were good just the Coke which didn’t taste very nice. The slushes were nice to cool off. We enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.

Stayed a total of 7 nights in a 1 bed appt. Room is pretty basic and probably needs a bit of an upgrade but it is fine. Location is good with the bars and shops not too far away. Food was surprisingly decent even if the eating area is like a bit of a canteen. Staff all friendly and plenty of loungers available at most times. There are obviously far better hotels in the area but would probably stay again if there was a good deal available like there was in this case. Overall the hotel was ok, needs a bit of an upgrade and things like pool tables that have cues that aren’t broken and table tennis with proper bats could also improve the sports side of things.

Considering this came up on Jet 2 as a 3 star we didn’t set our expectations high, but we were thoroughly impressed! Food at the restaurant was delicious and much more choice than we thought. Me and my partner were super happy that one of the nights was sushi/Chinese night as that’s our favourite, but there was still plenty of other options if you don’t like that. It was different each day too which gave us variety but same salad bar. Staff in the restaurant were very attentive, clearing plates as soon as empty. I do agree with the reviews that the juice and cocktails there are super sweet, the cocktails were still nice though just the breakfast juices except the orange weren’t for us. Staff were friendly, helpful and chatty. Entertainment was good, we particularly enjoyed the parrot show (though do be careful if you get photos the company charges €40 only telling you afterwards). The studio room was big and had all the amenities we needed like hair dryer, fridge, kitchen etc, even a lovely view from the balcony. The only issue we had with room 4403 was the glass shower panel had been put on wrong as it wasn’t next to the shower it was fixed to the far side, meaning every time we showered the bathroom flooded as it wasn’t stopping the water from coming out. Luckily they provided fresh towels daily except 2 days of the week so we had a towel each day to mop up the floor with so we didn’t let it bother us. The facilities were all super clean and every day we saw the staff cleaning whether that was jet washing the pavements, mopping all the outdoor stairs to the apartments or shining up the reception floors. The hygiene was great! There’s arcade games, pool tables which we played after watching the entertainment, ping pong tables, all day entertainment like quizzes, sports etc enough to keep children entertained and pools of course. Great location just a short walk from the beach. Everything about it felt safe. Honestly don’t have anything bad to say about this resort as a whole as we got way more than what we payed for and expected in my opinion. We definitely lucked out with this one. I’d stay again if I ever came back to Tenerife😊

I have stayed here a few times since last May. Every time is an amazing holiday. Staff are so friendly and can’t do enough for you. Rooms are lovely and food is amazing. Got another trip booked for May and hoping to get the same hotel room 😊
