The apartment is a good 25 minute walk away from a supermarket (or even a little shop) where one can buy milk, beer, wine, bread etc - and as there are no buses up the hill, it's a 25 minute walk back up or a taxi. We recommend that a note is made in the apartment's description that if you don't arrive in a car then you are basically stuck in the middle of nowhere once you have finished skiing for the day. There is a regular mini-bus up to the lift (finishes at 17.00) but absolutely no public transport going down the hill to Baqueira. Taxis are 20 Euro one way! Thank goodness for the adjacent hotel where we were able to have dinner (highly recommended - lovely people and excellent food) on the arrival night and breakfast the following morning! Note also that the (very disappointing) 'village' has limited facilities and only one tiny supermarket that closes from lunch time to 17.00.

This is not ski to the door but that said the bus stop is just a 1 minute walk. 5 minutes and delivered to the Tannau lift. It's a very convenient base....just not ski in ski out.
