Great hotel. Great location and lovely staff. Rooms were minimalist but had everything we needed. Breakfast is available at 14euros each, but we just used the local cafes as a pastry & coffee is all I'd have in the morning and there's plenty cafes within minutes of the hotel. Special mention to the lovely gentleman running the hotel cafeteria...didn't get his name but he always had a warm welcome and a smile for all his customers although all the staff were really friendly. Would definitely go back.

This hotel is perfectly located near all of the major attractions almost equidistant between the Prado and the Royal Castle. There are plenty of places to eat near the hotel. On check-in, we were given a card for Gusto's restaurant with gave us each a free glass of champagne. We had a room for three people and it was spacious, clean, and quiet. The bathroom was one of the best I have had in Europe. The breakfast room is large so there is no wait for a place to eat and there are a lot of food options that are of very high quality. The staff was very nice and helpful. The hotel is gorgeous and the common areas are quite comfortable.

We found the staff most unfriendly.. not a smile or any communication other than the gentleman on the front desk… it’s like they have been told to avoid the patrons . The barman was the most miserable person ever … and the prices… €10 for 2 small wine glasses of beer… really!!!!! He certainly had no idea how to make a Tinto de Verano.. plus he refused to serve drinks at 10.55 pm. When asking at the front desk we were told the bar closed at 11.00 pm.. but no way could we get drink!!!! The food in the restaurant was poor.. enough of it but.,,, the hot breakfast food was ALWAYS stone cold so the choice was very limited. On the night of arrival a coach of 50 of us were served a buffet.. but …. We were only given tiny plates .. not a dinner plate in sight. The chicken goujons were raw in the centre which was the only choice as far as I was concerned so it certainly wasn’t worth the €25 which is what the price of a buffet is at the hotel. The staff kept on removing plates without a sky if they were finished with, 3 times I lost a bread roll and had to get another.. unbelievable! There is building work going on at the front of the hotel which impacted on peace and quiet. Many of us experienced late night furniture being moved and lots of footsteps .. could only put it down to housekeeping being carried out .. but after midnight and before 8.00 am was unacceptable!! I think that the management should take a very good look at the quality of the hotel!! Such a shame as the hotel is very conveniently placed

Ok area which is easy to go with shoppings. Pick pocket in the hotel. Avoid it as much as you can. It is a shame that Madrid and Spain hotels become a hot bed for pick pockets.
