“Very good”
“Superb”
The breakfast was good, always fresh fruits, toasts, traditional pastries and home made yoghurt. The staff was very helpful and kind. Very near to the beach towns by car.
Location wasn’t the best because we needed to drive to a town nearby to get dinner. Otherwise good value for the money as every hotel was being super expensive near the area.
“Superb”
the staff. extremely nice!
a bit noisy
“Totally lacking in hospitality”
Let's start with the positive: the room and bathroom were very clean. Now, on to the negatives. As you enter the house you are immediately accosted by a strong mildew odor which makes the idea of spending any time in the sitting area completely out of the question. The walls of the room are paper thin so you are privy to everything going on next door. The breakfast was very underwhelming. But, by far, the most unpleasant part of our stay was having any communication whatsoever with Amaya, the owner/operator of the Posada. She displayed her certificate of study in tourism, but she must have missed or slept through the classes on hospitality. Normally those in charge want to make your stay as easy and enjoyable as possible. That was not the case with Amaya. There was only one other party staying there when we were there and she wanted us to sit at a table right next to theirs (they had a young child who was coughing and sneezing). Before they came down for breakfast we asked Amaya if we could please sit at a different table and her response was "no". After some back and forth and a great deal of eye rolling on her part, she re-set a table for us. After that the communication between us was very cold and tense. She had put some yogurt in the refrigerator for me and when I asked if I, ( not she) could retrieve it right before we were leaving the next morning at 6am (well before she would be awake and before breakfast), again she said "no" and gave it to me at 9pm and I had to leave it outside on the small terrace to keep it cold. Really?? I speak fluent Spanish so we had no language problem; the problem was insensitivity and inflexibility. If our 3 nights had not been pre-paid we would have left immediately.
“just what we were looking for”
We spent 4 nights there and it was great. Fantastic location to see Cantabria, easy to get to main road, close to lots of interesting places, lots of parking space. A great way to see an authentic Cantabrian village. The room was very spacious and decorated with style, comfy bed, clean bathroom. Breakfast in the garden was idyllic. Owners are very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.
