“Pity about the bad bed!”

There was a reasonable selection for breakfast and the coffee was good. The Posada is located in a quiet very small village, easily accessible to the coast and mountains.

To be improved

The bed was the most UNcomfortable double bed where 2 people roll into the centre. Upon arrival we questioned the room we were allocated as our reservation through Booking.com confirmed a triple room. The property did not respect this nor reimburse us.

“The room was nice. The area was pretty in a small village. · Cons: We paid for breakfast. However, when we went down, everything was locked up, and no one was around. We left at 9 am and still no breakfast. We messaged the hotel 3 times and still had no reply. So we've ended up paying for 3 breakfasts that we never got.”

“Looked nice but we were not able to stay!”

Unfortunately (and I am only posting this review as there is no way to stop the requests from the website for a review) - we never got to stay here. We arrived after a very long drive from Bordeaux and often updating our arrival time via the website but on arrival we were told that the room we had booked had a problem with the water so we could not stay (no other rooms appeared to be available). It was a real shame as it looks a lovely place. The person who met us on our arrival did his best to help book us another hotel some way away in Noia. This was OK but more expensive, breakfast was not included and there was no restaurant. I am not sure why we could not have stayed elsewhere in Escalante. To summarise, helpful staff but sadly we were unable to stay.

The room was excellent. Bathroom good.

There is no onsite parking. And someone was smoking in the reception area. I don’t think there was any other guests in. The restaurant wasn’t serving until 9pm.
