“Lovely stay in a quiet Spanish village - great location, hosts, breakfast and hospitality”

Wonderful location in a quiet village. The house is lovely and the owners very welcoming. Lovely balcony to sit outside in the evening and the room is both cozy and spotless. There are some shops within easy walk and a couple of bars - and a van making and selling churros in the evenings. There is also a lovely restaurant just across the street which is open 5 days a week - and in the evening at weekends - it's very good. The breakfasts are good, simple and tasty - and if you like home made cake, you are in for a real treat. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.

“Perfect hotel near Santander.”

The best

Beautifully restored house, in a great location for catching the ferry at Santander. Lorenzo is a perfect host. The breakfast was excellent with homemade pastries and gluten free bread. We will definitely return.

1) no air conditioning in the attic, due to the peculiar summer we had 30+C degrees at night (they said usually it’s not that hot). 2) 5:30am chicken coop waking up the neighborhood. 3) poor communication, English not sufficient and it felt like localism

“Absolutely beautiful and comfortable house, would definitely recommend!”

Absolutely superb accommodation, stunning house and beautiful decorated bedrooms. The bedroom was comfortable, extremely clean, and we really can't fault anything! The staff was friendly and the homemade breakfast in the morning was delicious. The Posada also has beautiful grounds and the view from the bedroom was beautiful - trees and mountains all around!

To be improved

Not a problem, just important to bear in mind that renting a car will make it easier to travel around the area and reach the property. We relied on taxis, which can be quite expensive, or the bus links between Vargas and Santander, which are very cheap and good, but do not come very often and are sometimes delayed.
