Great location in a very small Spanish hamlet. Very quiet and peaceful.

To be improved

Very poor greeting on arrival - possibly because we hadn't noticed the 1900hrs check-in time, and we arrived at 1700hrs. That said, 1900 is very late compared to normal. We were not shown to our room, but just instructed that it was " through that door". There were no refreshments available on arrival, although after a text message to the host, a cold drink was available to purchase, as it was a very hot day. The staff member on duty had a poor attitude, and was not very customer friendly: she was the only staff member on duty for the whole of our stay. We always try to book small family run places to stay, and reading the reviews and looking at the photos of this Posada, we thought it would be perfect. Unfortunately it was not what we found. None of the tables in the restaurant were laid, and the outside tables were dirty and the ground was littered with cigarette butts and debris - very disappointing! When we came down to eat the menu was very small and limited, and hand written on a scarp of paper. We were then told that the staff member was on her own and will not be serving outside - not ideal on a hot evening! She was obviously struggling to cope with her duties on her own, and this was evident in her attitude. Our room did have a fan, but no air con, so it was a very uncomfortable night. Overall, we were thoroughly disappointed with our stay at this Posada, and we have stayed at many over the years.

“Enjoyed our last night in Spain, in a lovely rural village.”

The best

A lovely secluded hotel, in a quaint and quiet village. We were greeted with the friendly owners, and they were happy that were were from Tasmania. We came in on the sealed road from Navadun, and left on the gravel road towards Bailo, (which was a little washed out in places, but doable in summer, while we were there.) We had a lovely meal and drinks, and felt very welcome.

Lovely rural setting, very clean and comfortable. Excellent communication despite the language barrier.

We liked everything, but as a rural Retreat there doesn't seem to be any other place to eat.
