The best

Our host Jamie, of this family-owned and run hotel, was very friendly, helpful and spoke excellent English. We had breakfast at the hotel on one occasion and it was very good. The continental breakfast had a lot of choices and the quality was exceptional. We had brought our dog with us and this was no problem for the hotel. Our initial room was in the converted attic of the main building. The room was very clean overall and the bed was extremely comfortable. Unfortunately, the room was too hot for us, even with the windows open and we were unable to sleep on our first night there, so we asked to change rooms. Jamie was very understanding an was able to move us to another room without issue.

To be improved

Our original room, in the converted attic, was extremely hot and the a/c did not seem to be working. Unfortunately, there was also a very, strong chemical smell coming from the ensuite bathroom, which I believe originated from recently treated drains and permeated the whole suite, as soon as the door was opened. So, even with the windows open in the bedroom, it was too hot to sleep and we could not open the ensuite door to get a draft through because of the chemical smell. I must stress that we were there during the off-season and I am sure that this was simply a maintenance issue that was temporary and that, at any other time, this room would be exceptional in all respects
