“Beautiful location and accommodation in a lovely part of Spain.”

The best

Very scenic location, but small village so you need to drive to get there. About 10 minutes to Potes where there are many good restaurants and things to do. Host gave us advice on good restaurants nearby (10-15 mins). We tried all of them - they were excellent. Beatifully clean location, courtyard very neat with sitting area and well tended flowers and plants. Lovely continental breakfast.

To be improved

It is in a small village without bars/cafes/shops. So you need to drive elsewhere to eat and drink. No facilities for making hot drinks, except at breakfast. Host was helpful and made us tea a couple of times on request, but would benefit from a central area where guests could make a cup of tea or coffee at their convenience.

“Nice hotel but very strict hosts who will charge you extras.”

The best

This is a beautiful little hotel in the mountains. It is very close to Potes, but you still feel like you are in the mountains. The building is a very old renovated house that has that old Spanish charm for sure. The breakfast was included and had lots of options from 8-10am everyday.

To be improved

Unfortunately, we left on a bad note since the host charged us for an entire night more when we checked out at 12:07. We advised her we were on our way to the hotel when we realized we'd be a minute late to grab our bags. She gave us no option to pay a smaller late fee and claimed that they would not be able to get the room ready for the next guest in time. The woman cleaning the room entered at 12:04, so we did not understand how that could be a serious delay when the check-out was at 12pm. We understand that is the check-out but we were surprised they were so strict. There was nothing we could do since you also have to give a 100 euro deposit. Wasn't the best customer service.

“Welcoming hotel in a beautiful location - we would definitely return!”

Beautiful building and location in a small mountain village. Immaculately clean and maintained. Comfortable beds and rooms. Pretty courtyard outside. Lovely breakfast- including delicious homemade cakes.

To be improved

As it is remote, it would have been nice to have the option to buy a cold drink and a snack in the evenings.

The breakfast was not bad, but the choice was quite limited.

To be improved

The room was right under the rooftop, and the heat throughout the day meant that the room was a sauna, with no way of cooling it down. Sleeping there was torture.
