Poseidon Resort

Ignore the bad reviews, overall it’s a good hotel. We only had breakfast which was pretty much the same every morning but the quality was good so we didn’t mind. Location is great, pool is good. I would come back

Booked a last minute deal. Had a great experience, hotel was spotless, plenty of sun loungers, great food and perfect location! Right on the cusp of both old and new town. 5 minute walk to the beach. We would definitely stay here again. Rooms were well equipped, we asked for a lower floor and were granted this with a lovely pool view.

I’ve stayed here a few times, it is slightly dated but the beds are comfy and I love the location being a fan of the Old Town. My recent stay wasn’t as enjoyable, there was clearly a large tournament or sports event taking place in or near Benidorm and the Poseidón Resort was base for quite a few teams, this meant there were teenagers running up and down corridors late into the night shouting and slamming doors. They were shouting and running around th restaurant whilst people were trying to enjoy their meals. On one occasion I rode up in a lift with an elderly Spanish couple and as we reached our destination floor, members of these teams were shoving to get in the lift without even giving anyone the chance to get out first, the poor lady looked so shaken when she got out of the lift. The pools were both full of screaming teenagers; we all don’t mind the noise of people having fun but it was like being in a playground and there seemed to be no adults around keeping an eye on them and their behaviour, and given the noise they were making it was very hard to relax in the sunshine. It feels like the hotel has accommodated these large, unruly, poorly controlled groups at the cost of other people’s enjoyment of their holiday. Having stayed here several times and at their other hotel in Poniente I probably won’t stay with them again. I will say a loud altercation broke out between a Spanish couple in the room next door one evening and once I alerted reception to the escalating violence they were quick to deal with the matter and dealt with a booking issue quickly for me but there were sadly a lot of negatives to this trip.

would not recommend staying here all the rooms are full of bugs we had them in our bed and all over our room draws. cabinets we asked reception to be moved rooms they told us no. that they would send someone up within 30 minutes to spray some bug killing spray. we said we was not happy with this wanted to be moved rooms and not having it just sprayed with bug spray with the amount there was they wouldn’t of killed them all. eventually the cleaner cane sprayed the room got aggressive and was shouting at the fact we said room was not clean and is unhygienic. after having to moan for about 45 minutes if not longer to be swapped rooms. we then got told the only room we can have is a 1 double bed room which isn’t even double size bed it’s 1.35. when before we had and paid for 2 double beds. the staff was very rude and not helpful. made us feel like a problem.

We arrived at our hotel outside poseidon palace there was a lift outside to gelp get to the entrance and avoid the steps. There are 2 buildings the poseidon resort and poseidon palace We where allocated a room at poseidon palace on the 12th floor (we did ask for a pool view) which we got 🙂the lifts worked well during our stay ,the room had 2 enormous beds nxt to each other the balcony doors didnt lock which could be an issue if you have children as it very high up but wasnt an issue for us . The bathroom was quite large with shower over bath so you have to cimb in to shower again not an issue for us although i was recovering from a broken ankle so had to be really careful .the shower was great 🙂 Theres tv,fridge,hairdryer provided luckily we brought our own kettle,cups,and coffee satches with us . I would say the poseidon palace rooms are dated and older than the resort building but clean the maids where lovely came everyday with fresh towels and the room was spotless🙂. We stayed 10nights galf board there are 2 resturants the poseidon resort much nicer than the palace more choice and bigger we got to use both on our stay . We where told after we ordered wine with our evening meal Drinks are not included with half board at the resturant just tea,coffee,juice so had to pay for that . They are very strict around table seating if just 2 of you sit at a table for 4 then they quickly make you move as i mentioned earlier i was recovering from ankle surgery and was using a crutch we seen table close to the food area with a dissabled sign on so oresumed it would be ok to use as i was struggling walking back and forth with my crutch and a plate of food well one of the resturant staff came over and very rudely told me i had not reserved that table and should move i explained i wasnt aware we gad to reserve the table and would move i asked if she could help me with my plates and drink to move she was shouting at this point raising her hands in the air and her attitude was awful i complained via email to the management as i asked at reception to speak to someone and they wasnt available, anyway give the manager due he apologised for her behavior via email and left a card in my room to exchange for a bottle of cava at the bar as a goodwill gesture which i thought was very good and showed they valued their guests just a shame one member of staff let the hotel down in that way . The food was good at the resort building plenty of choice and cooked well although we ate out a few evenings as it became repetetive . The resort resturant you have to pass the pool to get to there, there is a large hall with a bar and stage for acts although the 10 days we where there it was very much catered to the spanish every night spanish music and dancing which was great to watch maybe 1 or 2 english songs in between but after a coule of nights of this became boring . Theres another bar area which was nice and had plenty of tv screens to watch sports and the odd kareoke night . My partner had his birthday whilst we where here and again the management left a card wishing him happy birthday and another card to claim a bottle of cava at the bar which was great weve never had that before at a hotel 🙂 The hotel is quite central to everything 10/15 min walk to old town,same to the strip and beach would i stay at poseidon again? no i wouldnt just because of the way i was treated in the resturant by the member of staff it really put a dampener on our holiday 😒although the management tried to make it right it left a sour taste and experience dont let this put you off though as your experience may be different to what i encountered and they may have learnt from this 🤔

My family have stayed here over 100 times, safe to say we love it. The hotel is perfectly located in the Old Town. The bedrooms are comfortable and spacious and the facilities excellent. The restaurant has recently had a complete renovation and is stylish and modern. But possibly my highest compliment would be for the staff who are brilliant
