“Great location and nice comfy rooms. Really enjoyed our stay”
I really loved the location and rooms in this hotel. The lounge area was really nice to go have coffee in the morning and wine at happy hour. My husband wakes earlier than I do and having this area for him to go to was wonderful. The El Nacional is right next to this hotel and I did occasionally hear people leaving late night, but wasn't bothersome. I would only come here for drinks and small bites. The food was not so great imho. We loved having this nearby for pre dinner or post dinner drinks. Pharmacy right across the way in case you need anything. I would definitely stay here again.
“Convenient Hotel for Exploring Barcelona”
Thank you to Nichole (our hero!) at the front desk. She helped reset our rooms air conditioning when we arrived. Work great the rest of the visit after that (she had to reset it or something to do with that). Thank you again Nichole! Hotel: Clean, great location, water/coffee/snacks available in the lounge area, and a helpful staff. Breakfast is at the restaurant next door if you want to add it - or there are a million options in the area. We loved just being able to walk out the door and explore. Uber was very easy to use in the area for longer distances. There is also a bus stop near the hotel if needed. We did not spend a ton of time at the hotel as we were out and about exploring the city.
“Good Location”
This is in a good location. We did enjoy the space. However, we had some issues with the AC in our room. I wish the staff had given us more recommendations for places to eat nearby - we discovered a cool food hall next door that would’ve been perfect when we arrived, but they didn’t really share anything and just told us about partner restaurants that would give us a discount.
“Wonderful but….”
I spent five days here so I have a fair amount to say about my stay here. Pros: - Fantastic location. I’ve been to Barcelona seven times and this was, by far, the best located of everywhere I’ve stayed. It’s close to everything, and it feels very safe and secure. It’s close to several metro stations as well. - Nice facilities. I had a standard room that was clean and well maintained. The air conditioning worked very well and the curtains kept the light out. I slept incredibly well. I also felt like I had a fair amount of space too. The shower was huge and a pleasure to use. - Terrace. There is wine and snacks from 7-8 pm on the terrace. Loved hanging out here in the evening. Some people were bothered by the noise in the walkway outside of hotel leading up to El Nacional, but I personally did not mind. - The water dispenser and coffee and pastries in the upstairs lounge were nice touches. Cons: - This isn’t a deal breaker but almost led to me taking off a point. The front desk is often staffed by just one person, who will understandably lock the automatic doors when stepping away. However, on two occasions, I found myself locked in and locked out and had no way to contact the staff. There was no sign in the door and the desk. In fact, I had to wait ten minutes once. On two other occasions, I saw guests outside trying to get in but they had no directions either as there was no sign at the door. I did alert this to the staff on duty when I checked out; they said there should have been a sign out there. This would not keep me from staying here again, but I felt the communication should have been better whenever the person on call stepped away. Otherwise, my experience was excellent, and I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to others.
“Short but sweet”
We had to leave before breakfast unfortunately to catch our plane. We went to the happy hour which was a nice bonus. The area around the hotel is quite noisy but once you walk into the entrance of the hotel, it is quiet and peaceful and smells lovely. The room was spacious and we enjoyed the outside balcony, bed and tub. I would definitely recommend this hotel to visitors wanting to stay in the heart of Barcelona but also wanting a nice retreat at the end of the day.
“Practically Perfect Praktik”
Excellent location right next to El National. Checking in was a breeze. The room was large and the balcony with tub was amazing.
No real complaints at all. There was one moment when a loud group of partiers came out of El National at midnight and woke us up but it's not a reflection of the hotel.
