“Good budget hotel but with some compromises”
Pleasant hotel in nice area of Barcelona. Staff pleasant, friendly and helpful, they also of course speak very good English. Room was clean, pleasant enough with great shower, separate loo / sink which are in room lobby area. Front rooms have balcony over busy street, rear have views to other buildings, middle rooms, no views at all! Our room was my only niggle here which might prevent a further stay - they are very small with almost no storage space so luckily we had smallish bags but unpacking was a no-no! The room was also very basic. Beyond a safe there are no extras such as coffee machine, slippers, etc. However, all that said, it was fine for two nights. Bed very comfortable. There is a water dispenser on the ground floor with a coffee machine but the pods were never available outside of breakfast hours which is a shame. Location is very central, ideal for many areas and a choice of Metro stations within about 7 minutes. Breakfast very small in choice but quality fine but no hot food to order, only basic continental which again for us, was fine. Coffee good. The lobby holds some wines and you can sit in the lobby or go to the breakfast room to enjoy. The lobby furniture could do with updating - the settee was looking very worn - time for a fresh eye and re-vamp because it’s a very pleasant, wine themed area otherwise. All in all, a very pleasant hotel, reasonably priced but the room size might prevent my return if I had sizeable luggage for a longer stay.
“Clean, good and all but very noisy”
Service is good, it's clean, everything looks well, location is great. but it's really bad isolated when it comes to the noise. So much banging and sliding, lot's of noise from outside. It wasn't possible to sleep well.
“Moldy shower room without ventilation: Avoid this hotel if you have allergy to mold”
I chose this hotel specifically for its "no-carpet/no-pet" policy due to environmental allergies, but my stay was a nightmare. Upon checking in, I immediately experienced eye irritation and breathing difficulties. The shower had visible mold that was covered in layers of white caulking , and zero ventilation; the room’s air exhausts vent was opened into spaces between walls and able to see pipes inside the ceiling through the grids. It emitting a foul odor from inside the walls. When I requested a room change (around 3 pm) the staff was dismissive and insulting. He claimed the hotel was full and prioritized multi-night guests over my health concerns, yet I watched many other guests check in afterward. He eventually tell me to go to a sister property that was even worse—smelling strongly of mold and window opens to a smoking pipe. I had no choice, but returned to the first hotel. I spent the entire night in my winter jacket with the window wide open just to breathe. When I asked for management's contact info, staff refused. This hotel is a health hazard with unacceptable service.
“good enough, but wouldn't come back again.”
The location was central, 9 minutes walk to Casa Batllo, which was perfect. Also super close to train station and tonnes of grocery shops and cafes around.
No complimentary tea and coffees in the room. When asking for a tea bag, they wanted to charge us 1 Euro for it. For the amount of money we are already paying, they still want more money for a tea bag. This is just disappointing, and just wasn't thoughtful enough to consider customer experience.
“Gem of a hotel”
We really enjoyed our stay here in Barcelona. The staff are warm and friendly, the location is fantastic, you can walk everywhere and the welcome glass of wine was much appreciated.
“Perfect for wine lovers!”
Really enjoyed our stay in Barcelona! This hotel was so quaint and perfect. It's a boutique hotel and they've really paid attention to all of the details. If you're a wine lover, you'll love this hotel (and their amazing wine offerings!). The rooms are perfectly sized and very clean, and the accommodations modern and up to date. The staff is fantastic as well, so kind and welcoming, happy to give any tips about Barcelona. Location is also great! Really walkable area and close to so many attractions.
