“My Barcelona Hotel”
On first arriving - - quirky-looking building springs to mind immediately. The reception area is large, the staff helpful and friendly. The room - HUGE, wonderful side-by side 2 showers (why??) , huge bed, view over the rooftops of industrial area all the way down to the sea, with the occasional liner passing by. Fabulously comfortable first night, then comes breakfast!!!!!! The best breakfast we have had in a hotel for many many years! Everything clean and well-displayed, plenty of choice whether meat/cereal/fruit/salads. etc etc but most of all - my favourite - smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. Heaven. The breakfast room was busy to say the least - but the wonderful staff kept everything topped up continuously. This hotel is some distance away from the city centre, but well worth a bus/taxi ride, because everything about this hotel is faultless in my opinion.
“Great building, cool design”
An interesting build. Not a regular hotel, which made the experience fun. All lifts are glass, the hotel is situated in a business surburb. Lots of restaurants close by and metro right outside. Roof top was beautiful, we received quick service from the bar. We did note that most guests received some nibbles with their drink order, but we didn’t. Had 2 rounds of drinks both without the nibbles. We stayed two nights and ate in the hotel on one of the evenings. Menu wasn’t that great my daughter decided to eat elsewhere and my husband and I ended up choosing the same dish. Service in the restaurant was good, but quiet and lacked atmosphere. Breakfast was excellent in both mornings. On one of the evenings I needed a shower but there was no water pressure. I went to reception asking if another room had water where I could shower to be advised that the whole hotel had no water and was just given a bottle of water to use to brush my teeth. I was advised that I would receive compensation. I went to bed and about 40 mins later the family was woken with a phone call to say that there were rooms with water and I could have a shower elsewhere. I declined as I was already in bed. I noted on checkout I was asked for more money to settle, but no compensation for the lack of water as promised. Finally the indoor pool is not a swimming pool more like a very small water area for kids to splash.
“A friendly hotel with a unique feel.”
A friendly hotel with a unique feel. The neighborhood has lots of shopping but not close to big attractions. The windows are amazing. The restaurant was great for a nice dinner. The rooftop pool was beautiful.
“Great stay!”
Dear Renaissance Barcelona Fira Hotel Team, I wanted to take a moment to sincerely thank you for the exceptional experience during my recent stay. As a Platinum Marriott Bonvoy member, I truly appreciated the thoughtful recognition, including the room upgrade and late checkout—both of which made my visit even more comfortable and relaxing. The room itself was fantastic—spotlessly clean, well-appointed, and very comfortable. It was clear that a great deal of care goes into maintaining such high standards. I would also like to extend special recognition to a few members of your team who made a lasting impression. David at the front desk was warm, professional, and incredibly helpful throughout our stay. Adrian at the bell desk was equally courteous and attentive, ensuring everything went smoothly from arrival to departure. Breakfast was truly a highlight each morning. The variety and freshness of the selections were outstanding. Chriza and Karina were especially attentive, consistently checking in on us and making sure we had everything we needed. Their hospitality made each morning feel special. Additionally, April at the omelette station did a wonderful job. It’s the combination of excellent service, attention to detail, and genuine hospitality that made our stay so memorable. Please extend my thanks to the entire team for creating such a welcoming and enjoyable environment. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at your hotel and look forward to returning in the future.
“beautiful hotel but service was not up to par”
As someone who frequently travels and stays with Marriott and other hotel brands, I had higher expectations for this stay. I reserved a room for one night and arrived just after midnight, but the room couldn't be found. The two front desk agents were unhelpful and came across as rude and dismissive. I was forced to wait about 45 minutes before being told I should look for accommodations elsewhere. After a long day of traveling, this was both frustrating and unacceptable. only to be told that my reservation did not exist. I shared the email with both agents, which included the confirmation number and my Titanium elite status, yet I was still treated poorly. I received my key but wasn't informed about breakfast or other hotel offerings. Although I was eventually placed in a room, and I did enjoy the room itself, the service experience was inconsistent and overshadowed the stay. I'm concerned that the night staff's performance doesn't meet the standards I expect from this brand. Additionally, I was uncomfortable with how my passport was handled. One of the agents (wearing glasses) took a photo of my passport, while I observed that other guests checking in did not have their passports photographed. I understand that identification details must be entered into the system, but taking a photo without a clear explanation or consistent guidance felt inappropriate. On a positive note, the breakfast buffet was enjoyable, and I would like to recognize Manager Joan, who was polite, professional, and made an effort to address the situation. However, as an Assistant General Manager, there should be greater autonomy to resolve guest concerns without deferring decisions. Overall, while there were some positives, the service experience, especially check-in, fell below expectations and needs significant improvement.
“Loved the hotel”
I just checked out of 4 nights at this hotel. I've stayed at over 1,000 hotels around the world and this is one of the more unique hotels I've experienced. It's all glass and mirrors and even though it's a high rise, you walk out of your room and you almost feel like you're outside. If it's cold out, you feel it. I have a bit of a fear of heights so the elevators were challenging as they are glass. I could only do the rooftop once but it does offer great views (the swimming pool looked inviting but I didn't try it). Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the vibe of this hotel and highly recommend it. There are plenty of restaurants and shopping in the area. Breakfast was quite good and the hostess, servers, and omelet station chef (I wish I had her name but she's been there at least 10 years) were excellent. In fact, so was the front desk, bellmen, housekeepers and everyone I encountered. Two suggestions. The gym was the smallest I have ever experienced. That was quite surprising as it is used and it's uncomfortable with more than 4 people. Please expand this area. Also, please add a shelf to the showers. Where are we supposed to put our razors, personal shampoos, gels? The shower experience itself is great. Again, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this hotel. I usually stay in the city center but didn't mind being away from it as the Metro is a few steps away.
