“Hidden gem of a castle hotel experience”
The best

Our stay at Castillo de Curiel was outstanding due to the personal service, quaintness, outstanding views from our room and all terraces and the fact/coolness of staying in a castle that was built on top of a butte. Each room honors a famous royal person and the entire hotel is period perfect.

Extremely special location. Good breakfast. Extremely attentive staff. Swimming pool open late and clean.

To be improved

Crumbs and hair in outer sheets. Electric car charging charged at rather unreasonable rate that was not mentioned upfront.

The breakfast was not good, just produce out of packets. Not good coffee, just from an urn! We ate an evening meal twice in the restaurant the food was pretty poor. ie suckling pig,just a slab of overdone pork no veggies really bad presentation of all food. We were very surprised that nearly all the restaurants nearby were closed in the evening last orders 3 pm leaving us no choice but to eat in the castle twice. The swimming pool was just a is tiny and the terrace untidy. The furnishings were hap hazard just repro's or falling to bits. No atmosphire in the whole place very dreary.
